Because you now did it to yourself.
You dumb, dumb motherfuckers.
Regards, the rest of the world.
American here. Fuuuuc… Not what most of us wanted here on the West Coast.
Yeah, wtf is in the water out east?
Oh right, the lead
Have you considered… secession? 😉
Fuck no, that’d make the whole country red. We’re in this together
As if the rest of the world wasn’t on the same slippery slope…
Things are looking glum all over.
Yeah but Americans not being ~56% the dumb fuckwits they seemingly are would have sent a good positive signal to the rest.
Now the opposite happens and the fascists everywhere will feel strongly encouraged, on top of strong US-support for autocratic Russia and big support for completely depopulating Gaza (after all, Trump is a big fan of Neta “finishing the job” in his own words).
You’re being too kind
True, but I love how the first we blame for this outcome are the American people.
I blame Kamala Harris and her botching her campaign. She had amazing momentum at the start, then slowly threw it all away, instead politicking to small businesses and Republicans instead of workers and their own base: Democrats.
I have to say when I watched the debate whilst Kamala herself impressed me, nothing she said felt very inspirational. I thought it was pretty clear what big picture items the base wanted and all she could come up with was a payment to new families and help for small business. This is good and all, but not the larger national and foreign policy announcements people wanted.
They voted for a con man, a fascist, a criminal, someone who tried to steal the last election. Kamala could be a bowl of day old warm potato salad and voting for him would still be one of the dumbest things imaginable.
Doesn’t matter.
Self-interest matters. What politicians will do for voters matters. That day old potato salad may be better than Trump, but it’s not at all inspiring.
If Democrats really took fascism as a threat, they would have activated Tim Walz and his views and pushed as fast and as hard as they could with the time they had to make the most progressive campaign since Obama’s.
But they went after the base who would have voted for a fascist anyways.
This is Democrats’ own doing. Sorry.
When fully capable adults do stupid things, like voting for an man with as many very serious faults as Trump, I blame them for doing it. That Democrats were ineffective at convincing people (or inspiring them) not to do something stupid doesn’t make the thing any less stupid to do. Inspiration is not required to avoid being idiot.
When fully capable adults do stupid things, like campaigning to a voting base as grotesque as Trump’s, I blame them for doing it.
Democrats, or at least those in their establishment bubble either on TV, on podcasts, at the DNC, or on the congressional floor, will believe anything they want to that’ll pass on blame and hold to a superiority complex that they’re never wrong. Power corrupts and all that.
Inspiration is absolutely required when you outside of the representative Democracy have lost hope in the economy, society, or planet. Apathy is much more destructive than idiocy, even when the latter is in favor of fascism. Apathy is what lets fascism and idiocracy prosper. There needs to be a counterforce should we keep the alternative at bay.
Democrats did not take Trump’s potential to do the above seriously enough, either in his rhetoric to espouse fascism or cast mis- and disinformation. And now we have to deal with their failure.
“Historians have a word for Germans who joined the Nazi party, not because they hated Jews, but out of a hope for restored patriotism, or a sense of economic anxiety, or a hope to preserve their religious values, or dislike of their opponents, or raw political opportunism, or convenience, or ignorance, or greed.
That word is “Nazi.” Nobody cares about their motives any more.
They joined what they joined. They lent their support and their moral approval. And, in so doing, they bound themselves to everything that came after. Who cares any more what particular knot they used in the binding?”
History furnishes us with innumerable instances that prove this law. It shows, with a startling clarity, that whenever Aryans have mingled their blood with that of an inferior race the result has been the downfall of the people who were the standard-bearers of a higher culture. In North America, where the population is prevalently Teutonic, and where those elements intermingled with the inferior race only to a very small degree, we have a quality of mankind and a civilization which are different from those of Central and South America. In these latter countries the immigrants–who mainly belonged to the Latin races–mated with the aborigines, sometimes to a very large extent indeed. In this case we have a clear and decisive example of the effect produced by the mixture of races. But in North America the Teutonic element, which has kept its racial stock pure and did not mix it with any other racial stock, has come to dominate the American Continent and will remain master of it as long as that element does not fall a victim to the habit of adulterating its blood.

The confederate states and their Jim Crow policies inspired Hitler. and black GIs came home from liberating Europe to be lynched for being “uppity”.
Are you kidding? Watching it happen in real time, it makes less sense than it ever did.
I lived in the shithole parts of the country, it made perfect sense.
Many ‘Americans’ would eat shit if they knew the smell would piss people off.
See but that’s just not making sense up close.
And it’s official now.
Fuck, this his hard. As a father of a gay child, and a trans child, our immediate plans are passports.
Land of the free :(
You forgot the big fat fucking asterisk.
*Visa. Passport won’t be enough to travel to the EU and select other countries in 2025.
EITAS isn’t a visa, and you can do it without travel plans and it lasts 3 years, tied to your passport.
As you know, we’re in a similar boat. Thankfully, we can get to Britain and stay (in theory) but the prospect of telling my elderly mother and my wife’s family goodbye for the last time, finding the money, finding new jobs with my health issues, just downsizing so that we can move…
But we are doing it.
I hope you and your family find safety and my best wishes to all of you.
Imagine being Latino in a red state.
Imagine being Latino and trans in a red state. Those people definitely exist. I am very scared for them.
Italy has a digital nomad visa now. Cost of living is so so but if you can freelance it’s not a terrible place to live as an expat. Source: am US dual citizen living here. Feel free to pm me with any qs
I am so fucking sorry you are in this shit and I wish you and your children good luck going forward. Sadly it seems like you will need it.

Yes, any criticism is just people with anger issues, that’s sorta my point guy.
Ed: also notice I get civility hits from everywhere else, the only ones that contain personal bias are yours.
Care to share an example of this? I’m all for learning and growing, and maybe we can resolve this hostility in a non-hostile manner.
Read the mod log dude, we’ve had this conversation in private chat three times.
The last strike and subsequent ban were because you disagree with an interpretation of mine. Not that it’s factually wrong, not that it’s hateful, that you disagree and thus you removed it.
Ahh. I had to scroll for a while to find it, but this was my last message on that topic:
perma ban for fighting people with the usage of misinformation.
Yes the Nazis famously led by whom? Context matters, bringing up Nazis is invoking Hitler and implying jd is literal Hitler. No, I mention that the way was already going to point out the ineptitude of your choice of date, 1938 being the most apt for your situation. The word evemy, I already offered the definition, you either lack reading ability, simply didn’t read it and you’re being wildly obtuse. We agree, why are you being a Vance right now? Ed: I’ll provide another > one that is antagonistic to another - especially : one seeking to injure, overthrow, or confound an opponent You*** stop an opponent you destroy an evemy***.
Opponent and enemy are the same in the goal, but not always the same in the motive. You try to beat the opponent/enemy, in the method proscribed in the actions being taken.
During WW2 but before the us entered? What a dumb question, of course but that time they were already running concentration camps. Are you implying jd Vance is literal Hitler and runs concentration camps in his backyard I guess? I sourced you the definition. I say he’s my opponent which does not imply violence, you say he is your enemy which does imply violence and you’re also berating me because I agree with you but refuse to use violent vitriolic language. Neat, logic that one out yourself.
He’s an opponent, he’s someone I stand against, he isn’t my enemy. Because when I say enemy I mean someone who needs to be removed from society by any means possible. You seem to use it as someone you don’t appreciate. Enemy: >a person who hates or opposes another person and tries to harm them or stop them from doing something: Opponent: a person who disagrees with something and speaks against it or tries to change it: I’m fairly sure by news rules calls for violence are specifically against the rules and I’m not sure why you would call for violence given that is the only difference in meaning between the two words.
Enemy (From the Oxford Learner’s Dictionary):
a person who hates someone or who acts or speaks against someone or something
In short, you twist words to your desires, and you talk down to people, insulting them, and their abilities.
I’ll be hopping another client to post full screenshots of all our discussions, as right now, I’m being painted as an ass, without context.
You’re proving my point, that’s a ban because you didn’t like interpretation, not because I violated a rule and most certainly not because it is factually wrong.
Ed: it should be noted that the context you’re arguing for is that I should violently hate jd Vance because we have different opinions and positions. He’s not my enemy, he’s an opponent. Your proving you banned me because I won’t say I violently dislike jd Vance. Come on bud, you’re smart enough to see that is bias.

It will though, the US passport offers a ton of visa-free destinations. Although it’s not immigration,it definitely helps
I imagine that’s going to change. Why would anyone welcome someone who statistically was very likely to have voted for a fascist? America will never be respected ever again
It doesn’t matter.
Europeans know the history of fascism much, much better than Americans do and they’re electing right-wing leaders too.
Which is always a very scary part. Especially over here, people should know better as they have first-hand experience (as a society at least). Seems it’s too far past already or something. 😔
I think a large part of the problem is that they don’t actually have first-hand experience anymore. Almost everyone who lived through WWII is dead now and humanity seems to be incapable of learning from other people’s mistakes.
It’s almost like capitalism isn’t a stable way to structure human civilization or something.
Definitely true for Germans
Unrelated, but I read “Definitely true for Gamers” twice. I was so confused.
They know the history and they regret who won
Women: he told you he’s taking your rights away and is already letting you die in hospital waiting rooms
Tradesman: he told you overtime and unions are gone
Veterans: he told you he hates you, pissed all over the sanctity of Arlington and is gutting the VA
Hispanics: he told you you and yours are getting deported and doesn’t care if you’re legal or not
Those on social security, Medicare, Medicaid or ACA: he told you he’s cutting/gutting these
Anyone with ties to Palestine: he told you he’s going to help Israel finish the job
Everyone says the other side is duped, I don’t know how more clear he could be.
Re: Hispanic people
The people that voted for him are legal citizens that have been here for generations. Same old American immigrant story that has been here since the nation’s founding - people closing the door behind them.
Germany had legal jewish citizens before Hitler came to power. Some even voted for him. Strong leader and all that…
I want trump voters to get everything they voted for. Everything. All of it.
and the rest of us will be collateral damage.
Yep, sure will. But this site and Reddit and FB and everywhere else insisted that Nazis have equal free speech rights and that we should respect religious beliefs and I can go fuck myself for telling everyone to arm up and ready to defend themselves so I dont know what else to tell you.
😳 Are you out of your mind? Where in the world did you hear these things from? Lord, i mean if ANY of that were true; id be right there with ya. But those are the most left-field claims Ive ever heard and are not based on reality.
https://cwa-union.org/trumps-anti-worker-record
I’m sure others can back up the other claims, but you said “ANY.”
Those are all real. Which one are you having a hard time finding, I’m sure people can point you in the direction.
Put on top of that, if anyone changes their minds down the road, he told us he would use the military against his political opponents.
Boy are you in for a shock when you hear about Project 2025. This stuff is straight out of their playbook, with more to come.
Jesus Christ, I just realized Jimmy Carted lived to see his country die.
That was one of my first thoughts. Hope the news doesn’t uh hurt him.
Well, I for one will question it, because I don’t understand what I’m seeing. How the flying fuck is this happening?
The apathy of the masses.
Calling this apathy is letting Nazis off easy. This isn’t apathy, this is a massive chunk of the US population willingly acting on this. Today is truly a tragedy.
They’re no less at fault. Fascists were always going to vote. Non-voters had the power to decide. Self-titled “centrists” and “apoliticals”, or those who adopted a stupid moral high ground because of one thing that Harris did or did not say, made a choice that amounted to “I’m okay with the worse outcome”. They failed to vote against the worse outcome.
Fascism is a cancer that should be excised with prejudice. So is abstention. And Americans should hold them equally responsible for every harm and every life.
Non-voters can turn fascist too. There’s no guarantee that if everyone voted, the results wouldn’t be the same.
Except everything we know about voting in America disagrees with you
I’m fully expecting a “night of the long knives” type of situation now. Hope to be wrong about it, but I haven’t been so far.
White women, Hispanics, and black men all came out in droves voting for Trump.
Inflation, housing, and further on the right xenophobia. Clinton was right, “it’s the economy, stupid”.
First they came for the illegal immigrants and I did not speak out because I was a legal citizen.
Then they came for the LGBTQ members and I did not speak out because I am straight.
Then they came for the non-whites and I did not speak out because I am white.
Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me.
You should amend this because it’s not just “illegal” immigrants they are after. The rhetoric around the Haitians in Ohio is clearly directed at any and all immigrants legal or not.
because I was a legal citizen.
Emphasis on was since they’ll probably just strip it and make people stateless or deport them to another country where they held citizenship. I’m fully aware they’ll go after DACA and temporarily protected people, and I’m sure naturalized citizens who are a shade too brown will have plenty of negative interactions with red state national guardsmen who have no idea what makes someone legal or not.
Didn’t they come for the Palestinians first?
First they came for the illegal immigrants and I did not speak out because I was a legal citizen.
ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
Then they came for the LGBTQ members and I did not speak out because I am straight. Then they came for the feds, who overstep boundaries and stomp on citizens rights, and I did not speak out because I am a legal citizen.
Then they came for the non-whites and I did not speak out because I am white. Then they came for the DEI programs that worsen race relations and cause the working class to fight each other, and I did not speak out because race is not an important factor to who we are an individuals.
Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me.Then they came for my processed food and the overzealous pharma companies, and there was no one to stop them, because the people wanted health along with greatness.
Fixed it for ya. :)
Sorry but are you serious? This is hilarious. How is Trump gonna help with processed food and pharma bullshit? What is he going to do except make things worse for most people and better for rich fucks and himself?
It’s the policies he took on when he and RFK united their platforms. Trump won’t be doing much of it, but RFK will be.
Holy shit, I forgot about RFK with everything else that’s been going on. So the brain worm guy who eats roadkill and fucks whales or bears or something is gonna be in charge of the nation’s health policies? We are so fucked.
Enjoy your mandated magic crystals and bleach injections from the next pandemic when fucking RFK is your FDA commissioner.
You can have this country boss. Germany and the EU (y’know, those dirty, scary SOCIALISTS!!!) actually ban food additives while we are stuck eating sawdust and duck feathers and sugar bread and whatever the fuck else.
Not sure why I’m engaging. You’re clearly not interested in engaging in good faith. Just in case someone sees your comment and thinks there’s an inkling of truth to it, look up the list of EU approved food additives and compare it to ours.
But yes, in case you didn’t know, when they run out of enemies, they’ll come for you too. I hope you agree with every single part of the party’s platform :)
Enjoy fascism!
Lol, you sound like a far left version of a flat-earther.
RFK is 100% against those food additives and processing, so we’ll soon be alongside the EU in that regard. Not sure why you think that was a Kamala policy, it certainly was not, lol.
Your argument makes no sense, because the Dems have been in office 12 of the last 16 years and our food has only gotten less healthy over that time. You think that would have changed under Kamala? This issue is literally what the MAGAxMAHA unity is all about. You’re literally arguing against a change to our current food, lol.
Michelle Obama tried to make kids lunches healthier and it was literally socialism according to you chodes, yet the right wing judges remove the Chevron deference that allowed regulatory bodies to stop corporations from poisoning us without being constantly sued and that’s perfectly okay.
I’m not sure if you’re young or just stupid, but the right wing toolkit for modifying behavior consists of exclusively deregulation and tax cuts. Which one of those things will RFK use to get companies to make us healthier? Please walk me through it.
Maga wasn’t a thing when the Obama’s were in office MAGA/MAHA aren’t made up of RINOS, which is what “you chodes” must reference too. :)
I’m neither young or stupid, and you can easily look up RFKs policies any time you want. :)
Trump has been going on about the birther bullshit since Obama first took office, which is when he first started building a cult of personality with the uneducated dipshits of this country. The Tea Party was just the first rumblings of the populist movement that would go on to be MAGA.
Tell me who you supported for office back then? And how did you feel about her effort to improve school lunches and health? Did you agree? Or is it only okay when it’s your “feds” oppressing us?
Edit: Checked out RFK’s proposals and it’s literally deregulation and pseudoscience. Let me know how it goes when it fails. Of course that’ll be the democrats and immigrants fault somehow.
Same fucking right wing bullshit rebranded with a populist message. The right wing has no real ideas, no desire to improve anything.
Don’t reply again. You’re not worth my time anymore.
I supported Obama back then, and I was super excited about the lunch programs she tried to roll out.
What about his policies are pseudoscience? None of his policies scream right wing to me, though I do think with the realignment happening, they have now become right wing issues.
I’ll reply to who I want to, thanks.
Wait… did you think Trump cares about you? You understand that given the choice between saving himself or the country, he always chooses himself right?
He cares about America as a whole, he wants all of us healthy and happy.
You know Obama just took off out of the country today? That might tip us off on who is choosing themselves, just saying. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You know Obama just took off out of the country today?
Yeah, you know, that guy who is no longer in a position of power and can’t be elected to office again? What the fuck does that have to do with anything?
Hmmm, why would he take off the very moment all his legacy-backed puppets are crushed?? So weird.
Then they came for the feds, who overstep boundaries
Then they came for my processed food and the overzealous pharma companies
The demographic that wants less regulation is welcoming more regulation? What a fascinating example of cognitive dissonance in less than a paragraph.
Both can happen. Far less regulation, and what’s left we change to far better regulation.
Baffling. We already rejected this guy once when he had less baggage. His first term was objectively terrible.
So, I guess America has kings now, because Trump will never see another day in court for his crimes, and he’s not going to prison.
I just don’t have the strength anymore. I’m teetering on the brink of agreeing with the accelerationists and just letting it happen. The faster Trump ruins the country, the sooner we can rebuild it while we still have time to enjoy it.
The rich and powerful have been immune for a long time, even if they face any punishments its miniscule fines and slaps on the wrist, usually far beyond when the crime actual happens, when a peasant would be just locked away immediately. its just mask off now.
It’s not a choice of letting him ruin the country…they got the trifecta with this election.
They’re going to have to fire up the list again.
https://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/the-complete-listing-atrocities-1-1-056
Is it because woman? Like holy shit, Biden was an old fuck and still won last time. Hillary didn’t win. Wtf, is it really because woman!?
I know they’re not done counting everything yet, but as it currently stands…
2020 Biden - 81.3m
2024 Harris - 66.2mI’m disgusted with our country.
I’ve said for years that voter apathy would be the death of this country.
I hate that I was right.
It’s not the voter’s fault. Candidates should earn votes not expect them. The Dems chose a shit candidate and lost as a result. They’ll learn nothing from this and probably move further right.
It abso-fucking-lutely is the voters fault as well as the party’s. They knew the options and chose the worst possible one. Get the fuck out of here with that whitewashing bullshit. Even when you have a shit choice, you’re still making the choice, and it’s on you too.
They’ll learn nothing from this
That goes for the voters just as much. Next time we’re staring down a fascist and a shitty dem, we’ll pick the fascist because the Dems has to have a spotless record or we’ll piss away any progress we have in a temper tantrum.
I fucking hate my fellow Americans.
It is the candidate’s job to entice voters. Kamala and the dnc failed. There should be a purge of leadership but they’ll probably just do it all again in 2028. The lesser-Evil argument has never been a good one. Vote shaming has never been a successful tactic either but please feel free to continue lol
Whatever helps you sleep at night with the choices you made friend.
I’m not here to shame anyone. You knew what was at stake when you pulled the lever, I hope you’re happy with the outcome. I’m just not going to let people abdicate the responsibility they’re trying to shirk for the choices they made.
But you’ll be happy to note that I won’t be interacting with you again, because I’ve got no time for cowards who shift blame for consequences of decisions they’ve made.
My Dem representative expressed disappointment at the result this morning and then IMMEDIATELY pivoted to reaching across the aisle and working with the Republicans and trump administration to pass bipartisan legislation to help ALL Americans.
FUCKING LEARNING DISABLED
I was looking at those numbers too. And if you compare Trump’s 24 numbers to 2020, he lost about 4M votes this time. So it’s not like the 20M from Biden voted for Trump this time, they just didn’t vote.
20 million people are going to be the reason for the death of Democracy.
Assholes.
She got beat by a 10 year old vision that didn’t manifest the first time he won. The worst candidate in history.
She faced no challenges or adversity during a primary because there wasn’t one and therefore had no duty to voters.
Be disgusted by the people who told you SHE was the best choice to beat Trump, because she wasn’t. Not by a long shot.
she was anointed like Hilary Clinton. Voters dont like that.
Additionally, she and the democratic party didn’t tackle or communicate economics, which is always issue #1 no matter what.
Remember what an echo chamber this place is, even bringing that up slightly would get you ratiod or removed by a mod…
Imagine >80 million fascists in a single country like the US. Ouff.
Something something should not have supported the genocide and all. It’s costing us
Great job electing the person to office who’se the best bet for ensuring it goes from attempted genocide to complete extermination. Pat your back for upholding your morales.
Dude. I actually voted for Kamala. But for God sake just use some empathy for middle eastern community. If I was in their shoes I’d either not vote at all or voted third party. It was a stupid stupid move to put out the message “oh yes we supported the genocide, but look at the other good things we are doing.” Honestly that would piss me off even more.
They had three options.
-
Vote for the imperfect candidate who has at least been pushing peace deals and not leaving options off the table to achieve that.
-
Vote for the candidate who has promised unfaltering support for the aggressor and already proven time and time again they don’t care if non-white people die.
-
Vote third party, or don’t vote at all, ensuring candidate 2’s unthinking base would go uncontested and lead to outcome #2 anyways.
There is no fourth option, and there is no option aside from #1 that had a chance of success in terms of ending the genocide and seeing to the needs of the survivors.
So if there is anyone who really did choose not to vote because the current administration’s policy on Palestine/Gaza and treatment of those people, congratulations on going from anger at someone standing by and not stopping a genocide to 100% ensuring the next person will enable it to completion.
So again, congratulations on that morale victory, hope they don’t pat themselves too hard on the back while standing next to the bodies.
No empathy on your side. Clearly you haven’t been in their position. It’s like asking Jews in Nazi Germany to vote for Hitler because the other candidate is somehow worse. Except Hitler already proved himself bad for them and burned their family. They might not vote for the other candidate, but why would the support Hitler?
I have empathy for them, I have to ask if they have empathy at all. Trump issued a Muslim ban by executive action to get around congress, targetting middle east and african states, then he moved the US embassy in Israel without reciprocating such action for Palestine.
The choices you’re saying were made and logic behind them do not add up. This isn’t telling Jewish people to support Hitler. This is telling them to vote against Hitler for their sake and others, only for them to not show up to the polls and expect to hide out. Let me check my history books to see how that turned out…

Yeah that’s right. That’s why people used to vote for Dems. Up until this time when they proved their lack of action. How would you feel if your relatives were dying in middle East and you are the one voting in government that supports it.
deleted by creator
If you play for the side of light and goodness, the you have to be consistent. No tiny genocides are allowed. Clearly that’s not a problem for the side of darkness.
Either way middle easterns lose, so why play?
It’s a black woman, sadly for some that makes it even worse.
Also watching from Europe it seemed very strange to see that biden was still first in line until it was obvious for everybody he’s not fit for the job cognitively. And maybe that wasn’t even the main problem. He just couldn’t perform anymore and failed to present himself accordingly.
Harris felt a little like an emergency choice but it was refreshing to see someone not clearly in decline due to old age.
I would have voted for her because she’s not trump, not because I think she would have been a great president.
I just don’t understand how it’s possible that such old fucks are the candidates and I struggle to believe that they are capable of complex decisions.
Who fucking guides them and tells them what to do and why do I have a tinfoil hat on?
sigh, had a contractor today tell me he’s happy trump won because a woman would appear weak from the outside and we’d get attacked, he just hopes he doesn’t do ‘‘something stupid’’. Idk man. I feel helpless around these people, there’s nothing I can say to them that will change their world view.
Money talks and big donors fund both campaigns to ensure minimal change if not straight up keep the status quo.
Yep. Trump has never beaten a man in an election.
Tammy Baldwin is looking set to win Wisconsin, and Elissa Slotkin is ahead by a hair in Michigan, so no, that narrative is dead in the water.
No I don’t think it is because “woman” but rather “obvious awkward disingenous hello there!fellow kids!” Reasons why McCain wasn’t nominee Kerry failed and many other reasons. Bernie would have won. Just sayin’. But too late now innit. It’s not old guy or woman. It’s how the dems campaign with zero and negative
convictionbenefits or reasons for voters to go vote. Not copium but sad reality. Most people live paycheck to paycheck. If your policies don’t align then they won’t risk their life for you.And climate change doesn’t reduce the grocery bills or stop inflation. Just sayin’
It’s climate change increasing pressures in hundreds of domains, making people fearful and easy to manipulate. It’s happening the world over. Blaming candidates for not showing enough conviction is just another kind of copium.
And in fact, wanting candidates to show conviction could be seen as problematic element, as conviction is really not what we need right now in regards to getting elected. Anyone thinking even remotely rationally about the world their children will live in ought to figure that out for themselves.
The big problem is though that vast voting blocks including their candidates are:
a) the ones who fucked it up in the first place. b) too old to care how much things go to shit after them.
I don’t understand why you people only kill your good presidents.
Because the good presidents were the ones who stood up against the evil Southern states.
At least 2 people decided to try this time
I mean… McKinley was only so/so.
Novikov self-consistency principle.
Seems to have worked for Jesus. Maybe they’re trying to bring about his second coming? Althought it thought it was the other side that was into that kind of stuff.
I never questioned.
I just hoped.
In vain.
I’m so upset. I can’t stop crying.
I want to cry. I wish I could. I’m usually not one who is unable to cry.
Same. My wife started crying and I held her close, but right now I’m just numb. I want to cry, but legit just my body cannot.
You’re not alone. At least 66 million voters understood that was at stake, and most feel numb like us. Immediate cope mode.
For the survivors.
My one takeaway from this is that primaries are important. Republicans held a primary, nominated an incomprehensibly stupid candidate, and managed to win.
Dems held no primary, Biden strong armed his way into the de-facto nomination for a second term, and was replaced by his VP when he imploded on the campaign trail. At no point did Dem voters ever get to have a say in their candidate this year. Not that Kamala or Joe are bad candidates, but clearly, they’re lacking something if Trump was able to win again after changing nothing from 2020.So, the DNC fucked us again and we got Trump a second time in exactly the same way.
Dems held no primary,
He should have only served one term like he was considering and let Harris and whoever else have a primary. But just like with RBG, hubris clouded an old fucks mind and screwed the rest of us.
There’s definitely some truth to that. The media gave Kamala front-runner status in the 2020 primary and she blew it so hard she dropped out before a single vote was cast. If we’re being as generous as possible, we might describe her as, “unproven.” There was never any real indication she had decent political instincts or could draw people in, and it’s unlikely that she would have won in a competitive primary. Internal criticism is necessary to root out ineffective strategies (and candidates), but there was never a time when that was really permissible in this cycle.

I believe the democratic party called bernie “unelectable” so I feel we should be using that in this situation.
Democratic Party : Republican Party :: Washington Generals : Harlem Globetrotters
So you’re saying the Dems are controlled opposition? Yeah I can see that.
Dems held no primary, Biden strong armed his way into the de-facto nomination for a second term, and was replaced by his VP when he imploded on the campaign trail.
Wrong., Dems held their primaries as usual, and Biden won them as the incumbent (almost) always does. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Results_of_the_2024_Democratic_Party_presidential_primaries
Of course he shouldn’t have run again, but he did. Maybe some other Dems should have challenged him in the primaries, but they didn’t, and they would have failed anyway. By the time he dropped out there was no time to hold another primary and still get a campaign going for a new nominee. So pretty much all they could do was rally around the VP as the successor.
Geez, the primaries were such a sham that I forgot they even happened. Anyway, I corrected my OP. Thanks.
