When I was young and feeling invulnerable, the heavyweight wrestler for our university (who i worked with) told me I looked tough and cool with a cig hanging from my mouth.
He didn’t really have the capacity for dry sarcasm. I remember thinking that was not a good thing to tell me. Especially bc I knew that I wasn’t “cool”. I was a dork.
