For example, It is trivially easy (well, for a given value of “trivially easy”) to confirm this story from disclosed telemetry data and mission info that was available prior to this livestream.

Good question - there are numerous independent 3rd party sites, many of which are skeptic or believer aligned and extremely reputable, that automatically archive any nasa data that is published. As well, there’s ample reporting on these missions ahead of time on space news sites.

(This is aside from the fact that NASA wants to find alien life. We send probes all over looking for evidence of things that are just the precursors to life. It’s the fantasy of everyone at NASA for us to make contact with an alien species in their lifetime. It would be the single greatest event in human history. They have been performing horribly quarter to quarter lately, and so pretty much all of their product lines have had shit like this happen. Nerf has no springs and shoddy plastic, Wizards of the Coast are dropping a ton of middling-popular products from production, even their Marvel line has really taken a hit to quality with bad fabrics, cheap printing, etc. Everything is being cut to the barest minimum to try and claw back their profitability.

What does the relative pay scale of union vs non-union teachers have to do with anything? The point has been that unions are not magic ways to increase wages across a sector if wages are stagnant for both union and non union workers.

Wage stagnation can affect unions just as much as anyone else. If you want an example, look at how little teachers get paid despite having one of the largest unions in the country, with an extremely high percentage of professionals having membership. Unions cannot magically make an entire sector start paying more, that’s just not how anything works.

All the jobs for my position pay the same, that’s how wage stagnation works. Also, I am union.

Broadly yes - although my understanding is that it doesn’t really impact the potential effectiveness of antipsychotics or therapy to “catch it early” as it were, its much much easier to get an effective treatment plan figured out when someone is still able to reliably show up to doctors appointments and trust the other people in their life.

Yeah, I have a lot of experience helping people with early stage schizophrenia (lucky me!) and this was hard to read. They’re at that point where they’re still self aware, but they’re losing the ability to self-analyze their behavior and filter delusion from conclusion. Just gutwrenching.
