So far, um… I’m playing a 90’s fantasy anime and it’s wholesome as shit.
What a gem, my friend and I played through the first 2 lunar games in university.
I also discovered wild Arms which was pretty good and doesn’t get much attention compared to jrpgs like FF and Suikoden.
I loved Lunar. I wound up playing the second one first. Then went back to play the first.
An absolute delight. That’s the very game that got me into RPGs. Until I copped Harmony on PSP my brain focused on nothing but Halo and COD.
Friends don’t let friends Lunar and drive.
A ticket, if caught while driving
Completely unrelated but I love the Civic Si, what gen is that one?
I bought this game solely based on the full page ad in Playstation magazine. I put my hard earned cash down on a pre-order of the complete edition at “Software, Etc.” at the shopping mall, sight unseen, with FF7 my only frame of reference on JRPGs. Definitely my favorite JRPG from my childhood.
My only regret is selling it, along with a Ghaleon puppet, on eBay a few years back.
One of the better JRPGs ever done.
Follow up Lunar 1+2 with Suikoden 1+2, then Golden Sun 1+2.
(Optional) Phantasy Star 1-4.
After that, you really don’t need to play any other JRPG.
Breath of Fire 3 is also an excellent, timeless JRPG
Chrono Trigger?
And Earthbound.
And mother 3. Dear God, mother 3.
Excuse ME?
Username checks out
But really, how could you forget Lufia 1&2?
Lunar is up there with FF 4 and 6 and Chrono. Likely best 4 retro rpgs that exist.
I sometimes still hum the opening theme to Silver Star Story from my time playing the OG on PSX when it released. The game is just wonderful, hopeful, and fun. Enjoy!
I lost my Miyoo Mini in Greece and want to buy another.
It’s noticeably better than the 35XXsp I got to replace it.
Onion os is a treasure. The devs are awesome.
I can’t answer your question, but I have the RG35XX H arriving in a week, and you may have just inspired the first game to play when I get it. 😊
I actually owned Lunar 1 and 2 back in the day but never got around to playing them.
