I would suggest it’s the conservative ideologies that are toxic, education is the antidote.

Well, toxins are inorganic not really alive, so they’re not really killed by antidotes

Now if the analogy were infections an antibiotics….

(Edit corrected a word. Apparently, toxins are produced by organisms, got confused for a second there.)

Conservatism is about favoring tradition and supporting the status quo. Going this wild about a common grammatical construct because it reminds you of people you hate for existing isn’t conservative, it’s something far worse.

No, that’s a lie conservatives tell to make their ideology seem less abhorrent.

What conservatism is actually about is perpetuating hierarchy.

One could argue that so called “traditions” they are holding so much dearly in their heart never was fully a thing and is just the product of past idealizations and marketing propaganda. “The perfect suburban american trad family” from the 60s is a construct made by marketing people to sell fridges, diamond and beautiful car.

Modern conservatism is mental illness - it’s not a case of being dense - it’s a case of being genuinely disabled.

You’re getting downvoted because you’re more disgusted by people talking about the problem than you are by the problem.

          Denying eugenics would be disgusting,

Covering for those that support eugenics would be disgusting,

Being disgusted by someone pointing out the disgusting hypocrisy of eugenics and modern conservatism is disgusting.

Pointing out how monstrous and hypocritical modern conservatives and eugenicists are is a moral good.

I don’t care if I get downvoted, I’m not here for that. I have been downvoted recently by neoliberals on this site for literally saying everyone should have the right to vote (and I quoted Lyndon B Johnson and the fucking constitution about this), so we can see how much a downvote is worth here. This isn’t a site for leftists or progressives, or even people with a basic understanding of the Civil Rights Era, and I understand that. So ofc there is someone advocating for something Nazi adjacent here, like medicalizing an entire voting base. Medicalizing something that isn’t a medical condition, especially acting as if their cognition is what is wrong, is something historically done to women in the US right before they got fucking lobotomized and put into conservatorship. It’s a conviction and punishment with no trial. Fascism. Not to mention what the actual Nazis did to people they considered disabled.

It’s not “pointing out” anything to medicalize them. It’s an attempt to erode their rights by using laws that ALREADY abuse disabled people.

It’s so funny how disabled people are the perfect weapon for pieces of shit who dont care about them. No one cares about helping the disabled unless it means they can weaponize them against another group they hate. Usually it’s the homeless but ig today it’s conservatives.

Yep - it’s rational, correct cognition to think that Haitians are stealing and eating people’s dogs, that Jewish space lasers caused the California wildfires, that a multi-trillion dollar fence will stop illegal immigration, that Hannibal Lecter was a real and good person, that Clinton should be locked up, but I’m voting for the felon, that the election was stolen, that the Democratic Party is a sinister communist cabal, that Michelle Obama is a man, that Biden has opened the borders and is importing millions of immigrants to steal the election, that the deep state is conspiring to do everything we don’t like…

These are the mainstream views of the party as propagated by its leaders - it says nothing of the chemtrails making the frogs gay, hollow earth types.

…and here you are, fantasising about me abusing and weaponising the disabled - maybe even pushing for a little light lobotomy because that allows you to feel morally superior. Personally, I’d recommend stepping out of your fantasy, grounding your comments in reality and being morally superior, but what would my apparently Nazi arse know?

It doesn’t work that way. These “people’s” worldview is “heads I win, tails you lose.” They will be selectively hyper-credulous to whatever bullshit they want to believe, while turning into hyper-skeptics about anything they don’t want to believe.

You will never, ever win against them with a logical argument, not even reverse psychology, because the only rules they play by are the ones they make up second-by-second to make them victorious against you.

      The year was 1991.
My roommate decides to eat hot dogs.
We keep breads in the freezer so they last. Toaster is broken.
I tell this to my roommate before I go to the toilet.
I come out and I see a pot of boiling water with hot dogs and hot dog buns in it.
My roommate decided to boil bread to warm it up.

I’m less offended at the boiled bread than I am at the boiled hotdogs.

you might as well just eat them cold, they’re precooked. You heat them on a pan (or grill) to add FLAVOR. boiling generally removes flavor. Browning the skin in some way (Grill, pan, those rollers at gas stations,) is that flavor.

The only exception to boiling removing flavor is hot dog carts and stands and such like, where the water hasn’t been changed… ever… Yes. it tastes amazing. no. You don’t want to know why that is.

I know they exist, it’s simply the fact that they’re not usually required in daily speech, since verb conjugation gives the context of the pronoun anyway.

Yes, they are required and used. First, verb conjugation has nothing to do with object pronouns. You always need those. Second, subject pronouns may not always be required but are used much more often than they are omitted.

It’s not good practice to comment with such confidence when you’re so wrong.

Spanish pronouns are used mainly in the plain.

(Side note: I thought the original quote was something like “the rain in Spain falls mostly on the Spaniards,” but I can’t find anything to support that. Only today did I even learn that it was from a song.)

Apparently, “The Rain in Spain.” (To be clear, I would not have known that before looking it up to verify the quote.)

The original lyric I was parodying was “the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain.” (Which, again, I would have gotten wrong if I hadn’t researched it.)

edit: After a few minutes reviewing YouTube videos, apparently it was prose recited by the protagonist of “My Fair Lady,” the movie from which that song came. Eventually she gained confidence via that song.

I don’t know, I previously lacked context for the quote, but after watching a relevant video I realize I’ve seen a parody of it in Family Guy.
