  • It’s not surprising to me that people are misinterpreting your comment, which is factual. If you are doing piece work on a large industrial farm and your nearest toilet is a 10 minute walk one way, you are very unlikely to take the time. This is only one vector but it’s an important one.

On most smaller farms a great deal more care is exercised. On my farm we have a very strict hand-washing rule and have only ever paid by the hour. We also don’t have any processing equipment so the produce goes from the field to a carefully cleaned bin and straight to the farmer’s market or consumer directly. No conveyor belts, warehouse storage or re-packaging involved.

  • “Well, they were organic alright. All natural shit fertilizer.”

Doesn’t work that way. Even if the fields were fertilized with manure, they are done so long before planting - it’s literally in the National Organic Program regulations that certified organic farms are required to follow. It’s also just common practice anyway. Because duh, root vegetables.

The main and pretty much only source of contamination is in the harvesting, processing, and handling. Not just people but equipment like conveyor belts. For example, “baby carrots” are almost never grown small but big carrots cut up by machines, which -no surprise- are easily contaminated.

  • If you want me to listen you should probably say something beyond vague platitudes and “your argument is terrible”.

What astounds me is that you expect me to be completely consumed with what’s important to you while you are completely dismissive of what’s important to me. As if somehow the ONLY issue that mattered in this election was the Palestinian people. As if every horrible horrible thing that is going to happen under Trump to American people has to take back seat to YOUR cause. That’s the definition of virtue signaling and it’s incredibly offensive to me.

Feel free to have the last word but I won’t engage with you further.

  • Your premise is based on this: "Almost everyone in north Gaza will be dead by new years. "

Which is clearly and obviously false. Check back with me on Jan 1.

“Do you think Trump will kill them a second time?”

The Trump administration will enable the complete erasure of the Palestinian people and their land. Huckabee has said as much already. Israelis have said as much too. I believe them.

Finally, do you think nothing else matters? Do you think the consequences of a Trump administration beyond Palestine don’t matter? If so, I’d encourage you to spend less time virtue signaling and more time checking your privilege.

  • “nobody that could change anything did a fucking thing”

Actually, things did happen. Many things happened. Your ignorance of them doesn’t mean they didn’t happen.

In this case we have an incoming chaos presidency. Government by chaos doesn’t work well and tends to return to stasis not least because people tend to want to do their jobs. Musk will disappear onto his next ADHD and excessive wealth-fueled adventure, probably Vance will have Trump shuffled quietly to the side (or maybe out a window) and the infighting among cabinet members and political appointees will ensure that few of Trump’s “promises” are kept.

There will be lots of damage, many people will suffer, and recovery will take a long time. But out of that things will change.
