  • Yeah, and your head should rest up on it, hence the name and all that. It is there for that rear-ended collision. If you are leaned way forward, now it’s just something for you to hit, but if you are headresting, it’ll absorb some of the impact and prevent (or reduce) that cervical spine injury. Anytime I’m at a stop, especially in traffic, I try to remind myself to put my head back, just in case. It’ll be the time I forget that I get rear-ended though.

  • Yeah, OP is full of shit. They’re coming here to complain, no way they didn’t complain over there. And that rule has been steadfast for probably the whole 14+ years I’ve been over there, and honestly has been a rule on any (good) forum I’ve participated in in the past nearly 25 years. If you get suspended, you do not come back with another account and post about it.

And I know it’s state dependent, but the highways by me, each white line is about one car and each gap is one car, so if you’re doing 50, having two to three white dashed lines between you and the car in front of you is probably good.

People on the Internet, and specifically reddit/Lemmy, sit and read all this negative shit all day, every day, and then come and regurgitate it for others to do the same. Life has literally never been easy, except for a very select few. I personally think some of the best things in life come from the fact that there are difficulties weighing in opposition (winter and summer, as the most general example). If you don’t want to have kids, that is great, but to say it’s because the world is difficult is just such a copout, because the world has always been and will always be difficult. You need to live for good times, weather the bad times.

  • I pirate first, and when I’ve really enjoyed a book I add a physical copy to the collection. I just can’t get behind paying for digital shit, for the reasons enumerated in this thread here. I just wish there was more direct-to-creator payments. Music and literature are perfect mediums to give directly to the artists who create it. I don’t give a fuck about whoever paid fir the digital ink. Maybe the record people get a little money.
