Miller was a senior adviser in Trump’s first term and has been a central figure in many of his policy decisions, notably his move to separate thousands of immigrant families as a deterrence program in 2018. Miller helped craft many of Trump’s hard-line speeches and plans on immigration.
What do the “Trump won’t actually be that bad” people that I’ve been seeing on Lemmy in the last few days have to say about this?
“Um, aktually, this is business as usual for the United Snakes of Amerikkka.”
I haven’t seen that one yet, but I won’t be surprised, since this is the “both parties are the same” crowd.
One of them actually said yes to me not too long ago when I asked if Hillary Clinton would have picked SCOTUS justices that would have struck down Roe v. Wade. That’s how invested they are in this nonsense.
Right now though, they seem to be focused on “Harris lost because she ran a bad campaign and it doesn’t matter that I helped enable fascism by not voting for her because I share none of the responsibility or blame” and “Trump won’t be that bad because he just lies all the time.”
That’s the majority of them all right, but don’t forget the accelerationists that hope a Marxist-Leninist system will rise from the ashes. The ones who don’t realize the damper the associated climate change acceleration will have on their plans.
Would those be the same ones that say that, despite the stock market and the private property and all the billionaires, China is a communist country because you have to go through capitalism to get to communism? They amuse me.
He was in a pretty good band?
Checks notes
Oh… That’s Steve Miller… Fuck…

Sorry, I had to
Well, gotta burn this account to the ground! I’ma see you all under a new moniker!
Incidentally, other than Jet Airliner, which was a cover, I have noticed that none of the Steve Miller Band’s songs make a lick of sense.
“Whose Steven Miller?”
