you’re high on mushrooms in the Viking age, the gods are everywhere
Yes, moderate all of that shit off every mass social media system steam, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, blue sky, tiktok, YouTube, etc. Debate and compromise on a common set of standards, one for kids spaces and another for adults, and enforce the same rules to everyone with penalties tied to annual revenues so they can’t report one set of numbers to shareholders and another when it comes time to pay for the damages they caused by ignoring regulations. That is what regulating and building new markets should look like when you don’t have a corrupt oligarchy filled with bribery and regulatory capture.

If US cuts funding it would be abandoning its allies in violation of the Budapest memorandum which the US signed in '94 to protect Ukraine if Russia invades, and that violation from Russia since 2014 also grants Ukraine back its nuclear program which should have been supported by allies like the US. The only language a dictator like Putin understands is violence or the threat of violence, look at the nuclear saber rattling he does frequently and how people and nations capitulate to it and the only neighbors they avoid are either nuclear armed or NATO allied.
I thought so too but it ended up just being an encumbrance of vapors
If you want to just pick the fastest velocity we can measure and we’re currently moving at thanks to dark energy the Milky Way galaxy is moving away from other distant galaxies faster than the speed of light.
Let’s see how the Florida’s harder stance on immigration is going after a couple years:
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/florida-immigration-law-significant-unintended-consequences/
“Rogelio Rauda, an undocumented worker from Honduras doing construction in Crystal River, Florida, says only eight workers he knows came to the disaster zone out of the hundreds he says typically show up.”
“Hetrick says what Florida is facing is symbolic of the larger reality in the country — where there is an aging population and politicians framing immigration as a threat rather than fixing a broken system.”
Yep
I think the biggest end user perspective difference between mastodon and Lemmy is mastodon is designed more for following people and organizations and the occasional hashtag topic like Twitter, Lemmy is closer to reddit in that is more organized for topics and communities where individual identities are less important, less people use legal names, etc. I also see more advertising on mastodon but that may just be an instance or moderator thing and not a general difference.
The hubris and ignorance necessary to deny medical practices and pharmacology because of a religion that only describes how to perform abortions in it’s iron age sex manual and foreskin blood magic book is fucking terrifying. Earth, noun: a ball of rock and mud inhabited by psychotic apes.
I think they only stuck to that premise for the first one or two movies
It doesn’t even need to be permanent, just enough time to replace the executives and board with competent people who aren’t just trying to borrow and bust the company. The regulatory body obviously fucked up letting the '97 merger go through and need to rectify the problem not just continue to let it fester.
They are members of the cult of the line, and the line must go up.
A few I liked that maybe went under a few radars were The Guest, The Dead Don’t Die, Brick, and Dave Made A Maze.

Ethically you can make as many digital or physical personal copies as you want for yourself outside of perhaps a concern for wasting resources but if you sell them you’re taking away earnings from an author or rights holder or owner which may each have different moral weight and require recognition of property rights as a thing worth having. But if you’re caught with hundreds or thousands of copies or copies where they are easily accessible to the public it’s going to appear pretty suspicious.
I could take or leave jump scares if they aren’t the whole thing, I just don’t have great night vision so when a director thinks dark=scary I just end up watching a black screen with sfx and music, at least one of the home movies in Sinister and some of the later scenes was that I couldn’t see any detail at all just a flat black screen. It was really disappointing after so much great tension building in the first half.
Pretty sure Twitter still takes the cake on that one
And some song lyrics from the first music number:
The last man nearly ruined this place,
He didn’t know what to do with it
If you think this country’s bad enough now,
Just wait till I get through with it. /
The country’s taxes must be fixed,
And I know what to do with it.
If you think you’re paying too much now,
Just wait till I get through with it. /
I will not stand for anything
That’s crooked or unfair.
I’m strictly on the up and up,
So everyone beware. /
If anyone’s caught taking graft
And I don’t get my share,
We stand ‘em up against the wall…
And pop goes the weasel!
