I switched to niri about a year ago. It’s perfect for those who like tiling WMs but want a more natural flow, without constant window resizing.

Niri with waybar, fuzzel, and tessen give a pretty complete desktop.

I’m just trying to point out that he can use his threats to get what he wants, which is the only tactic that he actually knows how to do. Unless he got smarter since his last tern.

The Baltics are in a much stronger position than Ukraine. They are in Nato already, and are geographically important as a buffer to the only Nato members who actually take Russia as a serious threat (Norway, Sweden, Finland and Poland.) Tactically, air and sea defence of the Baltics is externally feasible, and the Baltics nations have focused on building land defense over the recent years. If you combine this with the obvious Russian war fatigue, and lack of resources, it is clear the Russia doesn’t have the capacity to invade the Baltics over the next two years at least, even if the Belarusians participated.

All of this becomes even harder if the Russians are gifted Ukraine and have to occupy it militarily.

Trump’s not going to need to apply tarifs.

Biden has both Russia and China on the back foot with failing economies, and significant social unrest. Both are desperate to make a deal with Trump. Trump only succeeds in negotiation when he can bully his adversary.

If Biden had the faculties, he could have whipped both countries and probably avoided this mess.

I don’t know why you are getting down voted. She lost , so she was a bad candidate.

She might have been a good candidate, but she was never chosen in the primaries, so why would the voters choose her.

The candidate wasn’t bad, at least not as bad as 2016. The process was bad. The Democratic primaries have been suspicious for a long time - so they aren’t trustworthy.

Don’t forget all the Democratic shakiness, just because of the Republican shakiness. Democrats needed to gain trust.

I think that first you have to start by admitting two things:

1. Americans did win their/your election
2. Americans have l9st faith in their democratic institutions

After that, you can look at why the Democratic parties fail to appeal to Americans, and try to reform them.

If you go outside of democracy to gain democracy, then you probably lose what’s left of your democracy.

I don’t think that they do recover anymore. Not since Bush Jr.

There is a modicum of school violence in Canada, primarily in Urban/Metro centres, but not enough to cause general panic. Tue States has a pretty unique problem.

She will most likely not be a great president, but could be a good one. If Biden wasn’t so poor on the Middle East, he would have been a great one, from a policy perspective.

I don’t have screens, but I wanted to point out a few scenarios that are challenging with fuzzel:

1. as I was trying to describe before, the ability to write accompanying text is pretty important, as you need to be able to describe what gpg key is to be unlocked, and typically a string like “Enter PIN for Richard Nixon nobody@trickydicky.gov” is used - which is too long for fuzzel (https://gorbe.io/posts/gnupg/pinentry/documentation/#set-the-descriptive-text-to-display) Also keep in mind the error scenario, which adds even more copy (https://gorbe.io/posts/gnupg/pinentry/documentation/#set-the-error-text). Lastly there is a “set window title” feature, which is perhaps not important for us (https://gorbe.io/posts/gnupg/pinentry/documentation/#set-the-button-texts)
2. There are message scenarios which are difficult to place with fuzzel. Even if I wanted to just fail out some scenarios like reties, I would want some “notification”, and would probably like to have fuzzel also used for that in order to keep the UI consistend across use cases. 3. There are cases where pinentry is expected to set copy for buttons for OK and Cancel and “Do not do this”, IIRC to get internationalization. I think that these are less important. (https://gorbe.io/posts/gnupg/pinentry/documentation/#set-the-button-texts)
