Not “the best” but also not “full of scams and ads”

Its the Associated Press. I saw no ads at all, but then I am using an ad blocker.

this is by far one of the most credible news organizations in the world. and one of the least ad infested old media sites.

It is on the internet. The internet is full of scams and ads. That being said, APNews is a legitimate site.
