Israel is making demands? I’m so sick of our government letting this rabid dog bite the hand that feeds it. It’s well past time for us to give them the shock collar.

I agree that ending arms shipments to Israel is the correct action. But don’t labor under the illusion that the US can “force” Israel to do anything. I can think of numerous instances in the past where Israel defied and betrayed her patrons. And not just the US, but also the UK and the Soviet Union.

I can only think of one instance where Israel backed down due to pressure, and that was the Suez Crisis. And that took the combined influence of the US, the Soviet Union, and the UN. (as well as help from Canadian diplomats.) Not to mention that Israel was a partner of the UK and France for this adventure and thus didn’t have the final say.

Straight from the Ayatollah’s rhetoric, thought that sounded familiar.

      https://5pillarsuk.com/2024/10/04/ayatollah-khamenei-calls-for-muslim-unity-in-fight-against-israel/

Iran’s leader, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, addressed Friday prayers in Tehran today, calling for Muslim unity in response to the atrocities committed by the Israeli regime, which he characterised as America’s “rabid dog” in the region.

      https://www.tehrantimes.com/news/498130/A-call-for-Hajj-of-disavowal

“The savage attacks of the rabid Zionist dogs on one side, and the resistance and oppression of the Gazans on the other side, will remain in history and guide mankind. The amazing and unprecedented effect that it has had in non-Islamic societies and universities of the U.S. and other countries, are proof of its history-making and significant nature.”

There may be a simpler explanation; it may be that Iran’s ultimate authority harbors a vicious, conspiratorial, wicked — and oh yes, erroneous — view of the West. In fact, I made this same case back in November, when Khamenei presaged the signing of the interim nuclear accord with a scorching denunciation of the United States and Israel, in which he not only described the Israeli leadership as a “rabid dog” but also argued that Washington’s bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki postdated the war’s end and was merely an excuse to test nuclear weapons on civilians.

Being an evil person doesn’t mean you’re wrong about everything just like being a good person doesn’t mean you’re right about everything

Sure, just like this statement doesn’t inherently mean they’re right either.

The official added that Israel also demands its air force have freedom of operation in Lebanese air space.

Lol. Israel thinks they’re king of the ME.

Since we’re just going to give Netanyahu everything he wants, and since Netanyahu is just going to keep the war going anyway, why are we bothering with the formality?

If Harris is elected she will be much better at standing up to Israel.

How do I know? Because it’s not possible to be any worse than Joe fucking Biden.

I admit this is pure copium.

We both know Trump would find a way to limbo under that extraordinarily low bar

Yeah, I didn’t think it was worth pointing out that Trump would gleefully support wiping out every last Palestinian.

I wouldn’t hold out too much hope for her. She will probably listen to her AIPAC overlords and will not stray too much from the policy. She might not be as bad as Biden the zionists still have a lot of say. I mean ffs, Bibi had the nerve to do a fucking tour of Washington, after months of pro-palestine protests on the US.

She doesn’t seem to be completely in bed with the Israelis like Biden is. Also, if she wins she has a little window to tell Bibi to go fuck himself before re-election and the threat of AIPAC money became a big problem.

Maybe she’ll even expand the SC and get Citizen’s United overturned. I can dream, right?
