    The one with the parachute jumps! The one without, follows! When the one with the parachute gets killed, the other one picks up the parachute!

    I heard there were no parachutes, that they just jumped into deep snow.

      Not in this case. There was an incident where Soviet troops DID do that, but from much lower altitudes, and from slow-flying biplanes. I don’t think any amount of snow would save them at that height!
