The only way a sane person would ever ride on that, unprompted and unprepared to see such a thing, is if there was a charm or mesmerizing effect happening. These folks stood no chance. Aranaktu looks like he’s a least a kilometer tall. Those children were doomed the moment they sat on those rainbow swings.
It’s not clear whether the people know they’re going off to be sacrificed or not. Maybe they’re glad to do it.
