As far as I can tell, yes. I signed up for the free tier before paying for the service, and the worst I ever got was a banner here or there advertising their paid service. Proton encrypts all your data with your password, so they literally can’t access it even if they wanted to. The only info they have on you are things like when you logged in and your IP address (and I believe they’ve turned that info over to law enforcement when required, like any legitimate company would have to do), but their servers are in Switzerland where there are better privacy laws.

I’ve been using Proton Mail for a while, it’s been good for me.

You can snag a Pixel 6a on Swappa for about $100. I looked into compiling the OS once, and it wasn’t worth it for me (on an i9 w/ 16GB RAM and a SSD, still would take days).

As a father of 2 kids, I can say that this is less obnoxious than about a dozen things we’ve been given.

Unfortunately, I don’t think any of this bothers them. As long as politics is controlled by money, this is the ultimate destination for any major political party.

If Bernie Sanders and Jon Stewart run in 2028, we might have a chance to install people that would actually attempt to remove blatant bribery from politics. Otherwise, this is it.

That’s one of the problems, for sure. First-past-the-post is a terrible voting system, and the electoral college is a mess. Unfortunately, I can’t blame those problems for the outcome of this election. Trump won decidedly–the larger percentage of American people want him, as unfortunate as that is.

That’s the problem–it wouldn’t matter. Trump isn’t the problem, the problem is a huge percentage of the country who wants to elect him. If it’s not him, it’ll be someone just as bad. Hell, I wouldn’t put it past people to vote Putin himself in.
