The right to not be genocided… apparently negotiable.

Indeed. Imagine the enormous stupidity it takes to think votes can be won by ignoring voters. Only a massive moron would think such a tactic would work. Good thing no one is that idiotic.
How about I shame you for supporting genocide
I’m not the one sending billions in weapons to support the genocide and then telling voters “other guy worse” to justify it. You obviously think the democratic party strategy which so severely lost them the election is a brilliant strategy, so this discussion will obviously go nowhere. Have fun posting your memes about burning houses while defending arsonists (instead of being open to the suggestion of perhaps not doing arson) and feeling morally superior because the other party has more destructive arsonists.
If pointing out similarities between the parties is a voter suppression tactic, then democrats should try being different from the republicans instead of kissing dick cheney’s ass and screaming that they need to move even further to the right after every election defeat. You cannot shame me for criticizing support of genocide.
Something to keep in mind when people are suggesting AI be used to replace teachers.
I’m not the one ignoring genocide, buddy. Next time tell the democrats that getting people’s votes is more important than sending billions in support of genocide. Sure though, people supporting genocide are totally not fascists just because the other party they love “reaching across the aisle” to support it harder.
Maybe if you keep ignoring voters you’ll get their votes someday.
Comic is too optimistic because here the fire was extinguished. In reality the fire has only gotten larger and is surrounded by all sorts of volatile elements.
The process from approval to actual drilling and extraction takes longer than that. Also, we’ve been a net exporter for longer than biden has been in office.
The US is a net exporter of oil and the country that we import most of our oil from is Canada: https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=727&t=6
Iran has been a constant for decades, so that isn’t a factor. While Russia has been sanctioned, their oil is still being bought up at a steep discount by India and China, so those countries’ demand for oil from other sources are reduced and the impact to the oil markets are likely insignificant overall.
Wasn’t this the administration bragging about approving a record number of fracking permits?
Hoping this results in real negative consequences for once in musk’s life.
This is why it’s silly hearing billionaires, who do the most damage to our planet, telling us how urgently we need to “get off this rock” which has supported life for millions of years in favor of some dead planet. It’s really just an extension of capitalism that demands infinite space to exploit, instead of being content with sustainability.
Anti-genocide protesters did more than just pick up a phone and call. We all saw the result.
Democrats: “we are the only thing standing against fascism”
Reality: *democrats standing with fascism*
Democrats lost some voters because they couldn’t stop sucking off fascists in israel and now they’re smug because the other party who kicked their incompetent asses also suck off fascists in israel. Apparently we’re supposed to laugh at anti-genocide protestors in this situation.
Americans may be surprised to find that foreigners actually don’t pay as much attention to US elections as they think. Even many people in the US don’t care, they’re just inundated with media coverage of it. At most about 66% of eligible voters even vote and the people that do vote aren’t necessarily informed. You may have seen interviews with undecided voters. They turn up to vote but haven’t necessarily put much thought into it.
As an aside, I find it funny when Americans scream about other countries empire building and carrying out provocative military exercises when the US has so many military bases everywhere. You don’t need to officially annex land to control it, that’s old style thinking.
People need motivation to vote. A selective tax credit or “other guy bad” simply isn’t enough. You can complain all you want about how stupid people are for not voting against fascism, but if you cannot face the reality of voters and how to get them to vote then how much smarter can you really call yourself over others? This is a lesson that apparently needs to be learned every election yet never seems to be learned.
Panic buying like this only leads to more price increases. I just buy the minimum, like usual.
I’m not even sure that’s the case. I went to a restaurant where there was a required “tip” (regardless of party size) and then they gave the option for an additional tip. I assume they did that because a large enough percentage of patrons did not tip and I assume this is what businesses in the US would do in general, rather than just increase the prices on the menu which would give customers a more clear picture of what they’ll be spending.
