Yeah its so rapey, its almost unbelievable.

That only applies in shit states that allow that wage fuckery. There are several states where the minimum doesnt change based on whether the job receives tips.
This is one of the problems with the argument online. Too many off us have different realities around them. Where I’m at they get a pretty healthy minimum (~$17/h) + tips.
Being a waiter at a decent restaurant is quite lucrative in my area. I don’t want to change that for the person, after all, the waiter is getting a cut off every check. It’s like a form of profit sharing! However, I’d rather just have the prices on the menu reflect reality and the business handle all the dispersion of pay without me and my feelings getting manipulated for an extra 5% (after the previously established 18% tip standard was deemed too low by people who get tipped that for decades.)
There were none. It had no opposition either.
I dunno, I voted for it, but California has HUGE conservative areas and the notion of working off your sentence isn’t exactly new or seen as particularly cruel by most. Also the comparisons to slavery will fall on deaf ears because it’s as much slavery as imprisoning people is kidnapping.
If you are OK with prisons, forced labor within them isn’t going to seem significantly harsher.

He doesn’t owe any of them that keep letting him come back without paying his bill. Tabs are for bars, not cities. If they want the money, they need to be willing to make him look like a cheapskate and cancel the event. The local authorities must be supporters of his to let it keep happening. Which means they’ll never make him pay the bill for any of this.
Ah, well at least we know where you stand on that. 😆
Yeah, always an option. I mean it won’t alleviate any of the world’s problems but if you like chaos and death by America’s hands it’s an option counties can take.
We do and we dont. Almost 350 million people have differences of opinion quite frequently. Thankfully most of the world thinks our positives outweighs our negatives.
Either that or they are too weak to stop us in any meaningful way. We’ve seen how many genocides over the past few years from superpowers and no one does anything? Only way you’ll see a real check on America or China’s power is through a world War which everyone rightfully wants to avoid.
To be fair, determining that is exactly his fucking job right? If not him, who?
Well for one, he’d make it worse for Americans, specfically women.
America often acts it’s own self interests which are going to run counter to the world sometimes. But if I am chosing between voting to benefit my fellow Americans or some other country… it’s gonna be America. I expect and witness the same from every other country as well.
No shortage of documentaries or reality TV. We live in a land of plenty. What you watch is up to you though. They even remade cosmos in 2014, so there’s interest there.
What’s kinda crazy to me is that if we rounded the whole group up, we’d probably get a few cops and military personnel working with them.
“Some of those that work forces…”
It could go down though. The decision to move products away from that plant can be made and diminish the bartering power of everyone there in favor of more friendly negotiations at another facility.
There is a breaking point. It’s just intentionally hard to know exactly where it is.
When billionaires say they want to get rid of the head of the FTC, you know that’s someone doing their damn job.
I’m still baffled by the logic of having a roaster/crowd work guy doing a set at a convention. Like… he was gonna insult people and start shit. It’s literally his job.
He’s not my cup of tea, but he’s been around and successful for a while now. He’s not an unknown entity who they could claim acted unpredictable.
Oh Jeffrey… that’s not how you’re aupposed to run a newspaper.
He’s making entertainment. But he also pushed back on him alot, or at least he used to. He really lets people go off though because it’s a 3 hour talk. He doesn’t have to keep them on track or concise. There are lots of episodes where crackpots come on and the reaction isn’t “this guy is right”.
It is a really long format show to watch and actually get context for if you don’t enjoy him at all. Too many people consider him a monster just from snippets or articles, which is why I wish people would chill with the hyperbolic claims.
He’s friendly with people who are nice to him and help him provide good content for his audience. Unfortunately, the more he’s villianized the more that becomes exclusively right wing shills. He’s not just gonna stop the show because the people willing to book skew right. He was booking Elon before he became so publicly problematic. He is also the reason Neil deGrasse Tyson was popularized. And he has research paper authors on fairly regularly. It’s a mixed bag.
I think we also assume most Mexicans care about the wall when that isn’t a factor for the vast majority. Most come and get their court dates and are capable of passing the boarder legally.
