Whoa there, horsey. I was making a general opening statement - not a rebuttal to a sentence you never wrote. In another reply I went into a little more detail. My main point was that if it wasn’t because of a learning difficulty then simply “motivation” isn’t always enough. A lack of facilities ( No libraries, no literate family members, no internet connection, inadequate education etc. ) could be a factor.
On a side note, do not ever accuse me of being a septic again. There’s literally dozens of people on the internet that aren’t USian - but I understand it’s much easier to throw labels on people who don’t pander to your every post.
I think he was Dutch - but they do tend to speak “better” English than the English.
The difference in UK/US (amongst other first language English nations) pronunciation is something I know effects hip-hop lyricism (i.e. rapping) as different pronunciations mean some words only rhyme in your own dialect.
Spelling (in non phonetic languages) has nothing to do with intelligence levels - it is all to do with memory and exposure. Perhaps he never went to school, or the level of education was pathetic… or he is incredibly dyslexic. Sorry if this answer sounds harsh but I’m pissed-off at what you wrote. I know of at least one illiterate person who stands head and shoulders above the “college kids” around them. They were such an integral part of our team that were bought them speech-to-text / text-to-speech software to keep their job.
Are you familiar with “The Chaos” by Gerard Nolst Trenité?
Deep breath:
Did you see the yellow jackets marching with their rolling barbecue fitted on the city’s tram line? Magnificent bastards.
Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon? The son of an Irish immigrant? He’s not the kind of guy who’d let facts get in the way of an opinion so we’re probably pretty solid saying that in front of him. If he did run his mouth, then I got your back, blud.
Wales has St. Davids - population c.1,750
Ketamine hallucinations?
McDonald’s Unhappy Meal
The laws of engagement in WW2? I remember they were apparently building concentration camps and rounding up and murdering the Jews, the gays, the gypsies, the anarchists, the communists, the Slavs, the mentally disabled, allied prisoners of war etc etc. I think right about then the law was ok with fucking-up Nazis… but I’m not an historian so best to double check this comment.
Context? On the internet? No thank you. I’ve made my snap decision and I’m right.
The only album I’ve ever owned as a 12” vinyl, cassette tape, 8 track ceramic cartridge and CD. I now have it stored as flac files on a hardrive.
The B1M channel on YouTube has an excellent video about this. I’m glad it all seems to be going to plan. I suppose that’s what you get when you listen to experts.
Time to roll out that tired trope: “I ain’t gonna lie, you had me in the first half.”
Imagine being so fragile that you can’t even accept that some people live a different way to you and wanting them shut down as a result.
One instance explained to me that they disabled downvoting because of massive brigading issues due to what they are and what they stand for. I had assumed that everyone over there was just fragile… but apparently it’s a real issue for them folk and that had never occurred to me before.
I’m glad you weren’t really that person… and I hope today is better than yesterday.
Easy. If your life ain’t going the way you want it to it’s much easier to join a big group and blame an easily identifiable “outside group” ( melanin content, language, religion, apparel, beliefs etc.) than it is to reappraise your way of living and your goals. Then if somebody runs their mouth on this you can get behind them - much much easier than taking personal responsibility for your own personal emptiness and feelings of helplessness. Having said all that, fuck ‘em. Fuck every last one of them.
Sri Lankans (of all varieties - complicated history) have elected a left leaning coalition. It’s very unusual the majority of every “section” of Sri Lanka to throw their support behind the same candidate / party (again - historical reasons.)
Here’s a BBC link. It appears to be reasonably factual as I understand it and is a good synopsis:
