Hi everyone! I’m a big fan of clever and witty comic strips. While I enjoy classics like Calvin and Hobbes and Pearls Before Swine, I’d love to explore some lesser-known gems.
Do you have any favorite comic strips—digital or print—that deserve more attention? Bonus points for sharp humor or unique art styles!
I’m a big fan of Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, a webcomic.
Poorly Drawn Lines.
Not lesser known but my favorite: Gary Larson’s The far side always gave me a chuckle.
Shade the changing girl is kind of an out there comic. I’m also a big fan of Tomboy. American virgin is neat, same with The molting.
Concluded a long time ago, but 8-bit Theater is one of my favorites.
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else mention Texts from superheroes on Lemmy yet.
Arsenic Lullaby is one of my all-time favorites.
There’s a man who was cursed by a witch doctor and has to get revenge to appease the magic or whatever, but he ran out of people to get revenge on so now he gets revenge on behalf of other people.
There’s a couple of census agents whose job it is to maintain the accuracy of the census by making sure the birth rate matches the death rate.
I won’t spoil any more, but it’s all very sick and hilarious.
Something Positive is a comic I’ve followed for close to two decades. It’s a slice of Life comic that follows a misanthrope named Davan and his (mis)adventures with a lot of dry and relatively poignant humor.
