Dad Jokes@lemmy.world•It has been forever and I still cannot find a water filter that filters out dihydrogen monoxide--why can't they make one that does this?English
2·1 year agoBut it doesn’t work for the joke. It just collects the moisture. You wouldn’t put it on your faucet. They want a faucet that doesn’t pump water, so it would be air lol.

1·1 year agoThe head might be heavy but the stomach, much more.

Check out the YouTube channel 'Don’t Tell Comedy’s some pretty funny comedians on there. My favorite is JC Currais: https://youtu.be/3A4TLB7pDm4

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•MS new captcha: Why did it have to be that hard!?!?English
1·1 year agoI just feel jipped bc my version of the orbits and numbers were all jumbles so you couldn’t tell which orbit pertained to which number.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•MS new captcha: Why did it have to be that hard!?!?English
2·1 year agoThe version I did had smaller circles, more abstract and nearly indistinguishable symbols and shapes and the numbers were scattered throughout the orbits. Some numbers were in between and it took a few seconds to figure out what orbit they were ‘labeling’. Also as you scrolled through the options, it seemed as if none fit the appropriate answer so I defaulted to the audio.

3·1 year agoThis was for an online service. I don’t want it to be restricted to one device. I was creating multiple accounts so I could have multiple free trials of things not affiliated with MS but had an option to use an MS account to log in.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do people end up winning lawsuits against companies due to a missing label or sign?English
4·1 year agoSo it seems like if health or safety or disability is not involved it is much harder. If a Laundromat has a sign that says they are not liable for unattended clothing that is stolen that would save them. How are they liable if it is a case where there is no sign?

12·1 year agoCountries have national animals, if you look on the list of other countries’ animals, you can see it is usually because they are the most common or most unique in some way.

24·1 year agoNo the eagle was the national bird just ridiculous that they have to sign a whole bill for it to be official. Seems like a waste of resources.

3·1 year agoOh, I wonder who wrote their obituary? 😞

Idk the validity of the research that they did. Like how could they tally up everyone’s opinions of these things. They could only have a large group but that isn’t always accurate. To be fully believable, they would have needed hundreds of thousands of people surveyed. Also, I find it hard to believe that a word is perceived positively or negatively separate from its actual definition.
