That’s a Klingon thing that’s been mentioned a couple of times.
It was more of a “we forgot all about Worf’s son, but Brian Bonsall is too young” thing.
It wasn’t a complete retcon. In TOS, Klingons were supposed to live only 30-40 years.
I don’t remember that ever being said in TOS.
