The rehabilitation of wealthy and powerful people with a disgusting past happens, not with fanfares and explicit exposition, but with gradual normalisation.
They are given platforms on respected media. Their opinion is sought on the current bête noire. They are given all this oxygen without ever having to account for their sins.
