“Well I didn’t vote for you.”
This could be the start of a fun buddy comedy. You’d have a great pairing with the king who is well-intentioned, enthusiastic but out of touch and unfamiliar with the way normal people live and the mermaid who is a cynical jerk but secretly a softie and also unfamiliar with the way normal people live, but I suppose the fact that one of them is terrestrial but the other is aquatic could limit their ability to go on an adventure together.
It could be like the “Knight Boat” parody of Knight Rider from the Simpsons: “Oh look, there’s a canal.”
For that red party hat, I’ll do whatever you want
“What would you do for a grey one?”
“I accept hamburgers.”
