Trump bloviated and lied while Joe stuck to the facts.

This will change nobody’s mind, but let Fox News shit themselves over their delusion…

Trump told such incredible lies that I can’t believe he can do it with a straight face. I mean even he can’t believe all of it. I think he is just saying the most overtly wrong things to see if his base will ever call bullshit. Like some kind of competition to find out if he can convince them he was the first man in the moon or some shit.

He actually said he didn’t sleep with a porn star. Which is amazing to hear right after his related conviction.

Anyone would deny sleeping with a porn star. Trump said that liberals wanted the abortion decision sent to the states. Regardless of what you feel about abortion personally, that is one of the most ridiculous statements I’ve ever heard.

Lol. Are YOU in touch with reality? Biden at least told facts, while Trump just straight lied and tried not look like he was completely useless (which he is). He did nothing during his time in office, and blames literally everyone else when confronted with that fact.

It’s not about whether you or I or the person you’re replying to is in touch with reality or not. It matters what the vast majority of the predominantly idiotic swing voters think in this country, and in that context, last night’s showing was not inspiring for the “please let’s not have fascism” team.

And I am calling swing voters idiots nowadays because with what the parties, candidates, and stakes are these days, you would have to at best be a genuine idiot, and at worst an outright fascist/theocratic fascist to seriously consider voting for Trump.

As you must know then, the President as a person has little to do with the actual policies being shipped around anyway. The majority of the work in the role is left to the people they surround themselves with.

Trump has a bunch of racist, classist, and fascist types hell bent on pushing their own agendas and taking us back 80 years to “the good old days”.

Biden has sensible people working on actual policies and projects that are positively impacting the nation.

The choice should be fucking absolute and clear, regardless of the debate presence.

But the swing voters the person you were replying to is referring to, mostly think that President is basically king.

It’s the low information voters that are the problem, and you guys trying to spin it like this isn’t a big deal isn’t going to help the situation.

The DNC needs to find a different horse. Biden needs to retire and go enjoy that golf he was talking about last night

      Oh stop.

I don’t like Biden, but he’s more connected to reality than the other guy.

I do admit that I’d rather have a selection of more fit candidates. But either you’re either exaggerating, or drank the GOP koolaid.

Since these debates are formatted like a game show anyways, why not go further and use a points system?

Imagine like anytime any player wants they can challenge what the other player said. Then a team of fact checkers is consulted and they give a truth rating. If the rating is ambiguous, nothing happens and we move on. If it turned out the player was lying, they get a penalty point. But if the player was telling the truth, the challenger gets a penalty points.

Three points and you’re out, plus a bucket of slime gets dumped on you.

Let’s make this shit fun to watch and call out the lies.

They were both caricatures of themselves up there.

Trump was a bombastic bully who lied constantly and dodged virtually every question. Did little else but talk shit.

Biden was… Half asleep. Mumbling, trailing off stuttering, losing track of what he was saying…

    This country is fucking embarrassing.

The problem is Trump was also far more put together than usual and didn’t go for his normal style of interrupting everything. So he lied his ass off but his tone was reasonable. And that’s something that fools way too many people.

The “every accusation is a confession” rule suggests that he was on some meds to help him keep his composure. Definitely not any truth serums though.

It’s not going to matter how Trump did because there’s gonna be clips of Biden all over social media showing him mumbling and stuttering. He looked terrible, the attack ad footage is just there for the taking.

They will make a bunch of super cuts of Trump talking confidently and then Biden trailing off and getting confused. They will flood Facebook and Tiktok with them.

It was a terrible format. I thought the point of being able to mute them would to keep their answers on question but we got 3 minutes streams of consciousness where the guys rambled off as many of the talking points as they could before the timer ran out.

If Biden had been coached to provide very short, sweet, direct answers and not had an audible death rattle in his voice, he would’ve won.

This 1000%. Even with the death rattle, he’s the only one that actually answered any questions.

A fascist vs a capitalist zombie is not “we did well.”

    America is fucked.

    Biden is not thinking clearly.

widespread panic among Democrats about how the night played out.

The Republicans have been in “widespread panic” and in various states of chaos over the past couple of years over lots of issues, and it has made no difference in voter support whatsoever.

This “panic” among Democratic pundits will make no difference in voter support either.

I still remember being dissappointed by the US when Bush became president. Then horrified when Trump won. Now I’m just scared and depressed.
