It’s best not to worry too much about it. Embrace the chaos of a world driven by idiots.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Good morning I choose not violent just hungry.
13·2 years agoShe drives me crazy.
Lynch’s Dune, for sure. Doesn’t get much more 80s.
Excellent taste. I had a silver bugeye, one of the prettiest cars ever in my opinion. Was my first actually fast car. Those MR2s are rad as well, poor man’s Elise. I’m a Miata driver, they feel like kin.
1997 Mazda Miata. Simple, reliable, easy to repair, incredible aftermarket support, huge community with a ton of knowledge, and an absolute joy to drive.
Plus the headlights go up and down.

politics @lemmy.world•Republicans fear Speaker battle means they "can't certify the election"
28·2 years agoI keep telling people, it’s not the darkest timeline we ended up in, but the dumbest one. Reality is always much dumber than you’d expect.

Lemmy Be Wholesome@lemmy.world•Rugrats snuck in some touching moments
63·2 years agoRugrats is a really strong depiction of realistic family dynamics. Lots of interesting stuff in the background. Also one of the best representations of a modern American Jewish family on television, I grew up in a mixed-faith situation as well and the Pickles felt incredibly relatable.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What name that's common today do you think will be considered an "old person name" in the future?
2·2 years agoThe only James I know is old and Asian, checks out. However I know like 30 Johns of varying ages.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Dear Americans, how do you go back to normal after such an election campaign?
161·2 years agoThose people have proven themselves to not be worthy of a relationship. Those people should be shunned for being inhumane monsters, not welcomed back into society. They will not change. They hate me and the people I love. I, and I assume many others like me, will never forgive, and never forget. And they will not stop. Even if we win the election, we will not have beaten them. This will only escalate until we beat them back and crush their ideology.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Straight men, what's the weirdest thing you've been told you can't do because it's gay?
2·2 years agoI do this as a joke with basically all of my friends who are in hetero relationships.
“I’m gonna spend the evening with the wife and kids, sorry.”
“Gay!”

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What technology purchase felt like a major upgrade in your life?
14·2 years agoI don’t think I could ever go back to a single monitor setup. Screen real estate is ALWAYS at a premium. I feel so constrained when forced to use just one.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is the Mount Olympus of the USA?
7·2 years agoA different take: Metropolis, and Gotham, and of course Earth-616’s New York City are where our pantheons live. Larger than life characters meant to tell allegorical stories about cultural values. And every red-blooded American knows that Superman stands for Truth and Justice, Spider-Man is a selfless hero of the people, and that Batman is a billionaire psychopath who uses violence to address mental health issues, his own and society in general. That last one’s not great but it is quite American. Zeus was a bestiality-themed rapist, so I mean shades of grey or whatever, lol.

politics @lemmy.world•'Dead heat': Trump pulls even with Harris in NBC News poll
8·2 years agoPresident Camacho legitimately wanted to find solutions to the problems his constituents faced, AND he had the wisdom and self-awareness to know he needed someone smarter than himself in order to achieve that. He’s willing to try things and change his mind when he is presented with new information. Furthermore, when he is successful, he shares the credit equitably with the other people involved.
We’re doing much worse than Idiocracy.

Patient Gamers@sh.itjust.works•Just finished Doki Doki Literature Club, what a fucking rollercoaster
20·2 years agoIt’s all fucked up heartwrenching bullshit and/or confusion through the main game, AND THEN you play the “plus” stories and they’re fucking incredibly empathetic and thoughtful with positive messaging about neurodivergence and also feel like they might fall into a lesbian porno at any minute
