I have young kids… My wife always asks me if bringing them into this world was a mistake. I was always the optimist telling her I didn’t think it so. Now I don’t know what to feel. What are they going to do… Ugh. This is a waking nightmare. I’m scared.
Nice, trash can is a pro gamer move. We came up to a house and all the guy was giving out was bottled water. After the kids nagging about being thirsty for the first 30 minutes that guy was an MVP too - had a sit on his lawn while the three kids sat and silently quenched their thirst. 10/10 trick or treating QoL updates.
The houses that do leave bowls are my favorite, the kids trick or treat as normal but when there’s a bowl-house I take one extra for dad lol
Damn this is some rough news… as other commenters have said though can’t blame the guy. I’ll cross my fingers for some random “Sinkboi for Syncthing” or something dumb like that to pop up down the road.
obviously looking forward to the non destructive editing updates and darktable integration sounds really nice, big fan of darktable.
fucking jellyfin still doesnt reliably work for me. ugh.
President Rufas: hold my Midgar, I’m goin in
Rock solid suggestion too
Check out Garuda Linux. Comes with a preset catalog of gamer related nonsense on KDE - or - they offer a minimal KDE version as well if you’d rather set things up your way.
I started with the preset one and then switched my machines over to the barebones one once I had a handle on Linux. It’s been a smooth ride. Things only break when I break them touching things unnecessarily out of curiosity because I don’t know what I’m doing.
Garuda is arch btw
Maybe try to find a small business you care about or interests you? I own a small business. It’s me, my wife, my sister-in-law and two friends I made in the industry. We all get paid $16/hr. We got to create the environment we wanted to work in. Its a lot of work but we’re happy and feel more free than we would elsewhere.
I know I’m coming from a point of privilege writing this but I like to think we’re all on equal footing at my place and we’re doing our best to grow together rather than making me rich. I’ve worked for a lot of small businesses as well and they often have more respect for skills and individuals - not all - but a lot. If you find a place you like or even love it can become like a second home.
