I’ll be more stunned if McConnell or other Republicans don’t cave and just go along with it.

“Take as needed until symptoms improve”
I sure as shit hope so, given that Gaetz resigned his position in the House, but somehow I suspect he’ll still be voted in and that he wasn’t going to resign unless he knew beforehand he had the votes for confirmation.
RIP Bob
(he’s just taking a nap)
I guess so, maybe. I don’t know, whatever.
Skim Lemmy and now Bluesky, play solitaire games, watch videos, go for a walk, contemplate the meaninglessness of existence, write, play video games, work (if I’m at work)
I don’t have any strong feelings about Teams. It just is what it is. It’s a chat app for work, like it’s just there to spy on me and keep me in contact with co-workers. It’s whatever. Of all the things I think about in the day, Teams is not one of them.
The usage is important, finding a job in a foreign country is much more important than maintaining a protest that most people have probably forgotten about anyways.
Meh. I knew going into the election that my vote would have little to no impact on this state, but I didn’t realize a good portion of voters were just going to sit things out in the swing states, what the fuck was wrong with those people? Of course Republicans were going to vote Republican, but I thought I could count on people to turn out to save our country and vote against a dictatorship. Obviously not, and here we are.
The only possible thing working in our favor at this point is how utterly incompetent Trump and his ilk are, they’ll be just as likely to infight amongst each other as they are to destroy the government.
I just hope that Ukraine can hold out or secure some kind of semi-favorable terms for peace out of the whole thing, they’re the real ones that are getting fucked out of this whole thing. They’ve fought harder for their freedom than anybody else and we let them down.
Is this from Buck Rogers, or which comic is this?
X will likely merge with TruthSocial as the defacto Conservative/Right-wing social media site (named something dumb like “XTruthXSocialX”), while BlueSky will become the defacto Liberal social media site.
That’s a bit of an exaggerated headline.
At last, we can build a better, stronger Sisyphus, one who can roll a boulder up a hill 1000x more efficiently.
I know it’s shitposting, but I don’t know that this is a good movie for this, as the name of the park itself is the name of the movie, it’s already there. They literally say, “Welcome to Jurassic Park.”
It sounds like a weird sort of backdoor religious movement, like they’re taking vows of chastity or something. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not being pushed by Conservatives themselves. Sure, go ahead and ignore Conservative men, they deserve it, but taking a vow of chastity is kind of weird.
I had setup a bluesky account back when they opened it up however long ago, didn’t touch it much, then just randomly decided to start using it a little bit before the election because Lemmy felt like it was running dry. It definitely seems to be popping now, though I don’t understand much why people waited so long to leave X. X seems like it’s been a shithole for awhile, did people not see the writing on the wall this whole time, or did the right-wing BS reach a critical mass after the election?
Bananas, pickles, onions, mustard. Now it’s like, “Whatever, just shove it down my throat.”
Probably after the other low-hanging fruit has been “dealt with”. They’ll start with illegal immigrants because they’re easier to pick out and have less people to stand up for them. Then they’ll turn their attention somewhere else, then somewhere else, but eventually they’ll get around to Atheists, because obviously they’re all ungodly heathens who commit all sorts of atrocities, not at all like Church leaders and devout Christians, who can do no wrong.
I mean, tens of thousands (sometimes hundreds of thousands) of people are deported from the country every year already, whether Democrat or Republican presidents are in office, deportations (or “repatriations”) actually went up since 2020 when Biden took office. They’ve been on their way down though back to “normal” pre-Covid levels, but it’s hard to say what would happen under Trump. From 2016 to 2020 they actually fell to a low of 27k for at least a little bit.
Possibly, we should start by investigating the President who was in charge at the time.
