  • Funny that this is just more divisive rhetoric enabling right-wing talking points . It’s almost like it’s not a matter of minorities, but of socioeconomic class and education disparities leading to people across the board voting against their own interests because they don’t know how to parse truth from bullshit.

The sooner black WORKERS, latino WORKERS, white WORKERS all rally under the same banner that points the finger at the rich who controls the vast majority of resources in not just this country but globally, we’ll just keep fighting over increasingly fewer breadcrumbs.

  • I appreciate the insight. So if I’m understanding you correctly, the AfD while they’re picking up fringe support, hasn’t really been able to broaden its coalition and lacks the capacity to hijack the government, even from a position of plurality.

I’m curious how the overall public perception of immigration will be for Germans going forward, considering the assimilation of the Syrian refugees Merkel took in, Germany’s aging workforce, as well as the existing need to fill jobs like medicine. Are there polling data trends available on this?

  • Sounds like a solid plan — best of luck to your family.

The plan we’re building sees us moving out of AZ and to a blue state near the Canadian border. From there I brush the dust off my degree while my wife ensures she has what she needs to continue working as a nurse in Canada. UK is in consideration, too. Germany after that given their pathways to welcoming immigrants — especially in medical or in university. Alas, those latter options are so much harder to pull off, especially when we’re also trying to be near uncles and grandparents for the kid’s sake especially. Here’s to hoping for asylum if it really does get that bad.
