It might take a while, but when your PC is working on it you are not and searching for words might be easier ^^
I’m excited to hear how well it works ^^

Long videos or voice notes where you’re usually just looking for a small snippet.

I’m very new to open source but I’d love to get involved but is there a discord or something to get up to speed?
Mhm I think the diagnosis is mainly for yourself to have closure. Now you can better understand why and maybe you’ll learn some tricks from autism communities to make life better.
You don’t need to tell anyone. You can, but if there’s no good reason, you don’t have to.
Sometimes it makes social life or work life easier because people start to understand you better, but this only applies if it’s an issue.
You can be happy you figured yourself out a bit better and you got a new club of people you probably fit in with :)
Congrats on getting the diagnosis!
May the textures feel comfy, may your relationships with people be smoother, and may you have fulfilling special interests!
Here’s your obligatory cozy cottage, and may the odds be ever in your favor :)

The one thing that really trips me up is that I am now really interested at how many people are assholes because they aren’t able to be good, and how many do it for other reasons…
Two things come to mind:
Both examples are people who don’t have the extended knowledge of what “being nice” is, and therefore they stop being nice. I would love to know how big that percentage is amongst all assholes.
This is also intertwined with the fact that if there’s an asshole for every 20 people who are nice (just as a thought experiment), you wouldn’t remember the nice people, because they don’t give you a headache. The asshole does. So for us, the percentage always looks really skewed, in fact it’s almost exclusively the assholes we hear about.

I mean it assumes not everyone can be good (which is fair) but it’s also assuming everyone wants to be good. And to be blunt, I think there’s some people out there that don’t care if they’re assholes.
It’s an interesting thought though, and I totally agree, some people really don’t know how to be good.
Either Killing in the Name or The Pretender.

This is a video about it, which I think takes a very sobering approach to it. Her humor tends to be very dark, but if you look at the comment section, she seems to be hitting it head on.

Now for solutions, I don’t know anyone who talks about it beyond the basics of “listen to men” and “give them a healthier and less judgy space to develop social skills”. But that’s probably because this is such a complex issue and there seems to be no simple solution.
I mean the manliest thing is to buy the girliest things. Because it means you have better things to do than to worry about how manly you are.

Either music or software.
I feel like there should be more people better at whatever they are seeking.

If that’s true it’s fucked up…
Boring meme

Damn what a video

Yeah. I think AI literacy is a real thing and should be taken seriously. Before generating everyone should internalize the boundaries and limitations of any model used.
If you have a hammer, everything’s a nail. And that reflex exists with AI as well, so everyone who uses is has to be careful in regards to that.

Used it as a toy for the longest time but by now I had to do a lot of coding and I was actually able to make good use of code completion AI.
Saved me about a quarter of my time. Definitely worth something. (FYI I use supermaven free tier).
Also I’m using ChatGPT to ask dumb questions because that way I don’t have to constantly interrupt other people. And also as a starting point to research something. I usually start with ChatGPT, then Google specific jargon and depending on the depth of the topic I will read either studies, articles or forum threads afterwards.
It did take me a long time to figure out which AI and when to use it, so mandating this onto the entire government is a gong show more than anything.
No AI is not useless, but it’s always a very specific use case.
If you’re interested, I suggest using the free ChatGPT version to ask dumb questions together with Google to get a feel for what you get. Then you can better decide if it’s worth it for you.

Yeah that’s a no for me.

Asus sounds good.
Also heard and have seen it from HP work notebooks, wouldn’t wanna buy them now.
Also older Acer or Lenovo laptops used to have a bunch of bloatware on there. Idk if that changed significantly. I do have to say, think pads haven’t let me down though.
Fucking hell.
Yeah and that’s why people are using cloudflare so much.
