The Covid response taught me we’re doomed.
If we can’t get people to wear masks and get vaccinated for a disease that’s actively killing millions we ain’t gonna do shit over climate change.
Had a little neighbor girlfriend when I was little. She was super sweet.
In second grade, on Christmas night, she had a brain aneurysm that paralyzed the right half of her body. She was in the hospital for months. After that, she was allowed home for a day or 2 at a time, but had to go back to rehab centers. I’d get to visit with her for a few minutes, but then she’d get worn out.
The finances got too tough and they ended up having to move out of the house.
I’ve always wondered what happened to her.

I don’t give a fuck about the ultra-wealthy.
But I work in municipal development and have seen first-hand how housing impacts on the wealthy trickle down and screw everyone else.
It’s amazing how much Mike’s art has evolved since then.

When the ultra-wealthy are suddenly in need of rentals and start renting regular houses and apartments, those houses can be rented for 5x the price.
The landlords will figure out that by massively increasing the rent, even with 2/3 houses empty, they’ll make more money than they do now.

Yes, they suck.
But what they’re gonna end up doing is renting a class down from what they were going to do, so they’ll end up getting a house that would have been 60 grand a year, but is now 90 grand.
And the people who were going to do that are going to be renting a place that would have been cjlheape4, and so on.
In the end, the price-gouge4s on the high end raise rents for the rest of us. We’ve seen the same thing all over the country with the lack of available-for-purchase single-family homes as more and more places are build-to-rent only. That’s kept renting apartments instead of buying houses, and apartment rents have skyrocketed.
There’s a 1br apartment I rented about 10 years ago for $510/month. I just looked it up and it’s now $1900 a month.
And as awesome as Alice Krige was at the role, her existence completely ruined what made the Borg unique and scary.
They were a collective without individuals. Having a leader just made them another generic villain of the week. And boy did Voyager and Picard run with that.
Even if the 13% number were accurate - that’s a pretty damning number. 13% of people supporting someone for gunning down a CEO in cold blood is terrifying to CEOs.
That’s not 13% hating them. That’s 13% of people celebrating someone for killing them. No lawsuits. No trials. Just gunning them down in the streets. Things have gotten really bad when you have that much of the population actively supporting your murder.
The numbers have to come from somewhere, and we all know how good police are at making accusations against them go away.
So the reality is going to be much, much worse.
Sax.
It’s the devil’s instrument now that he lost his fiddle.

That worked out for him.
He ended up owning the whole fucking country.
The movie isn’t about aliens. You never see a spaceship. There’s no technology displayed by them at any point.
They’re monsters or demons that take the form of people’s fears. Everyone who describes what they fear in the “others” are proven correct, and what defeats them is faith and hope.
In the end over the radio, they never actually say what specifically defeated them, but that the tide turned in the holy lands.

No. I’m saying they didn’t even have to do that because all these lazy motherfuckers complaining about the party don’t even get off their ass to try and change it.
And moreover, the “insiders” who control the party agent some mysterious cabal. They’re people who have been chosen to lead the party by the party. You change them by participating in primaries and (more importantly) local primaries.
Party leadership isn’t hatched from an egg. They climb the ranks over decades of party membership. The Clinton’s weren’t formed from the ether in 1992. They’d been involved in the party for decades before they were known nationally.
You select the people to lead the party in the future at the local level. You can’t just magic them into existence by doing jack-all but complaining every 4 years that they didn’t listen to what you weren’t telling them.

Hillary received the majority of the votes in the primaries. If the superdelegates had changed their votes to support Bernie instead, that would have been undemocratic.
Biden had a mathematically insurmountable lead when the primaries were canceled.

If 100% of those states had gone for Biden, it wouldn’t have changed the nomination. He already had it locked in.
And the 2016 scheme was to have the superdelegates tip the scales to Clinton if Bernie narrowly won the primaries, but he didn’t.

How are they not fair?
Just because the majority of people who actually show up and vote in them pick candidates you don’t like?
It’s the people who bother to fucking show up that make the difference.

The time to change the left is the primaries and local elections.
When the national elections come around, you don’t move the country to the left by allowing the ultra-right fascists to win the election.

Yes. They were flawed.
Explain to me how Trump being President helps the Palestenians or the environment.ve4sus a Bid3n or Harris administration.
Even if their policies were 100% in lockstep on Palestine and the environment (Trump will ABSOLUTELY be worse for both), there’s a million other ways in which Trump is worse.
You motherfucers who cast votes for third parties, refused to vote, or really did anything but vote for Harris were signing a fucking suicide pact for the rest of us while pretending you were taking the moral high ground.
Everything that’s coming is your fault. All the suffering, death, destruction - all of it. Your hands are bloody. It should keep you up at night, but your heads are so far up your own arrogant asses you no longer smell the shit you’ve spread.
When you had the choice to put up meaningful opposition to fascism, you chose not to.
Fuck you, now and forever.
I’d mourn the lithium.
