Even if you’re not ghosted, you’re very unlikely to get this information. Usually it’s just that they’re not interested and not the why behind it. And begging for the why is typically not productive. The only thing not ghosting gets you is knowing it’s a deliberate choice and not that they, like, broke their phone for weeks or fell into a coma or something else unlikely that prevented them talking to you.
I think intentionally being misgendered pisses most people off.

This is dumb. Thinking economic policy has immediate effects is dumb. Trump’s good economy was largely a result of Obama’s economic policy. The inflation during the Biden years was a result of Trump’s economic policy and COVID. It takes years to dig out of that hole. Everyone knew (or maybe not, people are dumb) that COVID stimulus was going to be inflationary; it was just a gamble that it would be less painful than a more 2008 style financial crisis. The whole world was experiencing inflation and Trump’s tax reform did not help the situation. Thinking tariffs will help fix the economy when the number one complaint is high prices is dumb.
I can’t imagine doing it as a parent. My kids drowning is a pretty big, realistic fear. Maybe for a teenager? Even then though…

That’s pretty much always what the polls say for the presidential election. I don’t know why people expect pollsters to have crystal balls. The election is mostly decided on who is going to actually go vote, and a lot of people don’t know the answer to that until election day.

It’s the DMV or a passport in the US. Since nearly everyone drives in the US, the main form of ID is a drivers license. They tacked the non-driver ID onto the DMV as well because they were already doing most IDs.
There should be a better way to provide everyone with IDs. But that should be done first before tying such an important right to it.

People who can vote but don’t vote for Trump or Harris are complicit in any act that the winner takes. You had your say, and you decided either is fine. Not voting doesn’t get you out of being a citizen of this country.
Are you saying your vote doesn’t change who’s president or that Harris and Trump are the same?
If voting for Harris makes you complicit, not voting does as well. Neither option is “murderer” or “genocidal”. But you contribute your small part to the outcome just by virtue of having some modicum of influence.

I have never heard that interpretation. Everyone I’ve ever seen talking about it agrees that if you flip the switch, you are complicit. Why else would there even be a discussion of if you should or not?
Abstaining from voting makes you somewhat complicit in whoever wins. You have the ability to affect the outcome with whatever choice you make (Harris, Trump, neither). If you choose neither, it is partially your fault the winner won as you could have voted against them.
It can be boiled down to a classic trolley problem. A greater harm the trolley is hurling towards, a lesser harm you could divert the trolley to. You can choose inaction and let the greater harm happen or you can choose action and cause the lesser harm. Most people think the lesser harm, even if they enact it, is better. But it’s a classic morality problem for a reason. Some people view the action to cause the lesser harm as less moral even if it prevents the greater harm.
