What’s being stolen
Why are you keeping dead bodies in your house, ashes or not.
“These other guys did it,”
Can’t be logical here. This is a topic that’s like discussing immigration with Republicans.
From construction of three data centers or everyday use. Weird wording this whole article.
Need to test by providing a tag at the start of these episodes that provides instructions how to kill yourself
Here is the summary by AI
The article suggests AI is worse than humans at summarizing documents, based on one outdated trial. But really, Crikey is just feeling threatened. AI is evolving fast, and its ability to handle vast amounts of data without the human biases Crikey often exhibits is undeniable. While they nitpick AI’s limitations, they ignore how much better it will get—probably even better than their reporters. Maybe they’re just jealous that AI could do in seconds what takes humans hours!
Would you lick it off or let the sun bake it until it’s a hard crust and crumbles off
Here is how I see Piracy ending. We’re offered Netflix and forgot about streamers so the government went heavy handed and forced other governments to change all their laws and give up these pirates while seizing sites.
Even though there are smaller pirates, the leaders of it so are mortality wounded killing any progress. We eventually end up with cable television 3.0 and try to go back to piracy. However while we weren’t looking there’s a ton of new laws and tools and ability to stop it that was created while we were watching umbrella academy.
Now the final nail is using media to create a foot-in-the-door technique where media convince the public to hate a new thing. Once that zeitgeist is established laws will then slowly be created by as suggested by lobbyists which are really just a facade that would give more power to take out pirates.
Anyone know the names of the pirate Bay owners? a/Anyone hear any news on those guys. Podcasts? Articles? Viral Reddit posts? In my mind it’s probably one of the top ten craziest political strong arming and over reaches in the past decade. Here is the story that I can’t find for some reason. Pirate Bay placed a server inside a bank in Switzerland. The Swedish laws prevent the government from touching anything inside the bank. Freedom type thing that the USA love. This means the Swedish government couldn’t be forced to shut down the server. Until Mike Pompeo on behalf of Hollywood flies to Switzerland and says you’re going in or America is going to make you pay. So they change the law for America and seize the servers. My point is this is pretty fun incredibly interesting story. But we don’t get these stories we get another season of making handsome real life serial killer show on Netflix. Pirating dies by suppressing it slowly over time until there’s no more pirates and the ability to regain the knowledge lost its gone and trying to look up how to crack anything results in the FBI at your door and you on a no fly list. Just like other pirates and creators of technology (look up how tor creators get harassed) and these stories all get suppressed.
When the fuck did we all become such Luddites
Yea I guess for me Google already sucks without AI and beyond that I don’t have issues or bugs anymore than usual. But I also use chatgpt for things to do I find it useful. Even right now I’m asking if to give me some prompts to code while I learn different design patterns. Like asking it what is a good decorator use case.
But how does that impact you?
Like when is AI being shoved into your day
Isn’t that how innovation has always worked?
I feel like all this AI hate is comparable to any other innovation cycle.
Millions of light fabric and dowels wasted on crack pot “air heads” trying to design first ever flying vehicle
Internet has brought so many new social issues and yet no philosophers to ponder and find good solutions even though no one is working.
Strange
But why do they need to make a living creating content.
We should go back to hobbyist sharing videos of their hobby and interest for the love of it instead of a guy trying to make money by jumping into trendy hobbies and creating bland generic content until the algorithm picks them.
It would reduce so much noise online and the stuff we would be left with would be people who have the best content. It would eliminate the drama and toxic crap for views.
Mind explains what is far fetched about it?
There was an opioid crisis where drug makers sold pills to the public that the public did not need and they used doctors to sell them.
There is an advertising epidemic where industry is working to push ads into every space we listen, look or experience and they are using content creators to justify it
Both have a large well funded industry. Both require an interface between public and the industry to sell their product. Both push products to people who don’t need them by using these interfaces to bullshit, lie and leverage their authority to sell the product. And in one case we blame the interface in the other we say " they aren’t responsible they are just making money" so why?
Too fucking many. But replace him with any of them. Speed, H2, Moist, donkey something. We use to have to walk uphill both ways in the snow to see content.
If Netflix ads were just energy drinks and VPN then you’re cool with them adding these tiers?
Honest to god question. How many hours a day are you OK being spent on being sold something. What is your ratio of content to ads.
That’s your time by the way. My full belief is anyone trying to sell me anything needs to pay me. Not a content creator. That’s my time I barely have any of it to give so when 1 hr out of 3 hrs I got to relax is spent being sold shit I’m pretty pissed.
And it isn’t like I can. Just opt to enjoy ad free content creators. They no longer exist because the ones that monetized it. That’s the part I hate most.
Sure, or accept that you participating in that industry will always lead to this stuff.
What do people want here. In what world do you think you can separate the two things. Monetizing content through ads and marketing and a world where ads and marketing are not capitalized on.
We all had to stop this decades ago when it was a tiny little part of the internet. You can’t kill it once its tendrils are in every corner its grown into Fafnir
You all have to get better at listening to the crazy ranting of random strangers with hair triggers and obsess over things you don’t care about. Otherwise the future is bleek
What’s even crazier is kids today will never realize the freedom that the first few decades of the internet was when the topic of information scarcity was supposed to end.
We were all so against the idea that capitalist and opportunistic people could artificially create scarcity to make us all pay more. They did it through monopolies on industry’s that choked out smaller competitors. The internet was a new frontier that was supposed to reject that. We could digitally copy and share everything. Hero’s shot up and built all kinds of amazing tools and things. Then it got popular and we recreated the same scarcity issues within decades. Everything trapped behind walls and monetized. Instead of open courseware at Berkeley we favored monthly subscriptions to udemy.
This is the average 6 year olds dream right now. A life where they can emulate a NASCAR fender and live that twitch life just like their heroes Pewdie and Moist and whatever else. Those kids grow up with that mentality and end up shaping a new generation pulling away from what all this could have been.
Whatever “power that be” is attacking all the pillars that uphold good democratic societies. It started with Government moved to Science then Medicine, and Media, it attacked trust in Police and Courts. It has been systematic.
I knew relationships between men and women should be in there since it is such a major part of keeping a society running but I never knew how it would get attacked. Honestly never thought it could. Lately its been obvious reading some places online like where the whole idea of marriage is treated like a dessert and where people gather to describe every ick imaginable while demanding that its members deserve only the best most succulent desserts.
There’s a total break down of society and I don’t think its just natural. I fully believe there’s some paradigm shift going on and this is all the groundwork for it.
