My cat loves sleeping with his face pressed inside my armpit or as close as possible in the bend of my arm. Sometimes, he can’t breathe that well, so he does the swimmer’s thing where he pulls up his head, takes a deep breath, and then goes back in 😂

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•I walked all over the damn store looking for butterEnglish
2·1 year agoI saw it a bit late, they actually have a number assigned to the sign. Do they use a number system already? Who is it for?

10·1 year agoI wish grocery stores (especially those you can also order from online) had a page where you could pick the store (if there are multiple) and then search for the thing you need and it had a number label that would be associated with the section it is in. This weird example from op would be: beer 10, butter 10, wine 10 etc without it being confusing because it isn’t a category anymore and you only need to look in that section instead of looking like a lost kid running around in the whole store. Also filling up that big sign with just a number would be a lot easier to read from far away.
They can keep the categories if they stick to them, like meat, bread, snacks and so on so ppl who do not care about the number system can still kinda guess like today…

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you ever watch or listen to content with the other part muted or blacked out (audio or video)?
2·1 year agoSound Only - only for media were watching would be boring like video podcasts, unless they hold something up then I look up for a bit. For only visuals - I rarely play mobile games with sounds or any other apps.
This reminds me of a post I saw were a guy had even made a lot of food that needs a lot of time and care. So when I saw that this guy went for only snacks in a bag (chips) I felt relieved. Sucks no one came but at least he can eat and drink what he bought when ever and invite ppl with the same setup on a later date.

1·1 year agoYes, everyone around me knows (I think most like I saw it in a news letter), but most of us do not know what it actually means. Some just know a few things about their own sign because those attributes was told to them and actually fit. So it is more like a way to give compliments if someone who knows tells you “oh you are x, no wonder you are so great at y!”. So I have no negative feelings about it. I just don’t believe in it.
The only attribut i know that isn’t for my own sign is that Scorpions are horny ppl, my Scorpion friends brag about that. I don’t know why.
As a kid was it common to use it more like a group name just like some use the seasons like winter, summer, spring, autumn child. Many tv series, games and cartoons used it (not in a serious way). I actually bought as a kid the wrong sign from a glas smith and didn’t know it was wrong for many years, apparently it wasn’t even close to mine 😂

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•You to have read it carefully and slowly ...
2·1 year agoNice try, but not this time. I think it is because it was the second word in the paragraph, I didn’t get to start reading before it stoped. If the word switch had started on the second line so I had got up to speed with my reading do I think I would had been tricked haha

Linux@lemmy.ml•Tell one thing that you miss after switching from another OS to Linux.
1·1 year agoYou could try running them with wine. I have done so with Photoshop but it was pretty long ago and it was not a subscription version of Photoshop, but maybe vs will work out for you otherwise you could try rider all my colleagues who did the switch after some learning curve loves it a lot more than vs. It is faster and resharper doesn’t slow down like it do with vs.

Games@sh.itjust.works•After Starfield: Shattered Space's mixed reviews, Todd Howard wondered if Bethesda should "have waited to put buggies out"English
2·1 year agoI may have missed them but did ppl have strong negative opinions about how the story was written? I saw only bug reports. I played it two years after release on my steam deck with almost no bugs (the few I saw did not mater). It is a great game until you have done all the quests with a story and done all of the endings, after that was it pretty boring and the city felt lifeless and pointless, but up to that point was it great and engaging. But I never played update 2 or the dlc so that can have changed.
I was actually very surprised dragon age is on the list. I have only heard bad things so I went and checked the reviews on it and I am even more surprised. I guess the game wasn’t as bad as everyone tried to make me believe. It looks cool but you can’t really tell how good a game is by checked some gameplay videos and apparently not reviwers opinions either haha
But why is a clicker game so popular tho? Isn’t it better to play those on a mobile?
I think I am his older brother or something along those lines. He is very social and loved by all humans but he shows more affection towards me and his real brother. They meet less than once a year because my sister moved far away, it is always interesting to see how much they still love each other (they are now 11 and have lived longer separated).
He calls for me sometime either for help with something or because he wants to be with me and can’t find me. But he doesn’t feel needy like a little kid toward their parents as long as I haven’t been gone for long. He do need a lot of love every day.
I don’t think he sees me as a parent but we have a very close relationship and mostly understand each other and he trust me a lot.
He is very polite when he is not at home, like waiting by the the food bowls without saying anything (for example when my parents takes care of him), at home do he come and ask for food and sometimes leads me to his bowl so it really feels like a kid who is reserved around other ppl when it comes to needs but is very social, outgoing and not shy at all when it comes to other things haha
Yes these kinds of works works best when you sing them like bards would. Just reading them as is is not as good. Or you can sing them like tenacious d (they got the bard style going on)
I have always wondered what advance is when ppl say Linux is difficult when you have to do something advance. Isn’t that the same for all oses? A os no matter what os (mac, android, Windows, iOS, linux) is difficult to use the first time. It doesn’t matter witch os it is everyone will have a hard time the first time until they learn how it works. Mac for example, it was extremely hard for me to find how to get to my root folder without using the terminal and when I told a friend about it who use mac didn’t they know either… I found out by accidently by miss clicking. Android depending on brand (what you had before) can also be annoying to use the first week or weeks until you have relearned.
Linux is the same, it isn’t more advance than windows or Mac the first time, it is all about learning how it works (most ppl build their Ikea furniture first and then read the manual) and windows and Linux in that regard is at least kinda similar because they don’t hide stuff as mac os does (you still ned a lot of knowledge to use windows too) and they are kinda alike, Mac is completely backwards in my opinion. I think everyone forgets how it was the first year they used a computer for the first time. Ppl laugh when studies shows that the younger generation do not know or do not understand the folder structure. It is all about experience and knowledge, if you know something exist then it is easier to find it.
The biggest problem i had using Linux for the first time was finding good alternatives for programs. And learning these new programs. You don’t have to use a terminal with most distros now days but it is a very nice and fast interface to use. It is also easier for everyone to learn and use because it is less dependent on what kind of environment you are in.
But I think we both are kinda agreeing with each other I just want to point out that all os are difficult the first time and you don’t have to make it harder than it is, linux is beginner friendly just like any other os.

I have many stories how I either accidentally cut into my fingers or break the bones. But most of them was pretty logical (still stupid tho) why it happened but one time was I going to lift up my friend + the chair they sat on for the lols and my ring fingers bone broke… I don’t know how… Your guess is as good as mine
