I’m a school bus driver and we’re all members of the Teamsters. Most of my coworkers are fanatical trumpers - in their universe it’s the GOP who are pro-union and the liberals who are trying to destroy unions (and help the illegal immigrants). A few of the most fanatical trumpers are (married) lesbians as well. Dealing with conservatives has always been a frustrating experience, but at least they used to be internally consistent with their shit. This complete disconnect from all aspects of reality seems like the one truly new part of all this.
Or Trump just named somebody he knew would have no chance and make the Left waste energy opposing him, so that they’re more accepting of whomever he names for real.

Here in the US, undocumented immigrants form the backbone of food production (agriculture and meat processing) and restaurants, such that mass deportations would cause unimaginable inflation in food prices. I want to think that means the Republicans won’t actually do it, but I thought they wouldn’t actually overturn Roe v. Wade either.
Um … my comment was a joke (and an obvious one, I thought). Normal Rockwell never did a “Turn your head and cough” illustration. FYI “turn your head and cough” is something doctors used to have you do while holding your nuts in their hand, to detect a hernia.
