A friend of mine is like this. Sends me a picture of a decent looking steak, alone on a plate, captioned “Dinner looking good!”
Add a side of sauted veggies and a slice of buttered toast and that’s all you’d need
Well yeah, like the OP, the stuff that makes the meal interesting is missing. Like eating pasta without sauce, or a bowl of broth with nothing else in it.
It may be salt is missing. I’ve also put it in a sandwich with either spicy mustard or hummus

“Can’t” be hard, or “can” be hard? Seems like the second option is more natural for that sentence.
“doesn’t have to be hard” is another option.
