Another relationship situation ending up at Disputes tribunal, this time being partly successful.
The last time (I assume you meant the woman who missed her flight to a concert) sounds flakey. You cannot punish people on the basis that there was any contract to get them to a place within a set period of time. Airlines cancel flights for all sorts of reasons.
Takeaway food aside, the lawsuit had a good chance of succeeding.
Yup, this sounds like a genuine case of the partner refusing to repay a loan.
Also, what a deadbeat.
They declined the takeaway food too though.
The part she was reimbursed for was the car loan and medication costs.
That fish looks good as hell…
The top piece does.
The bottom piece appears to be congealing into the newsprint though, probably because the hand seems to be pouring a thin dribble of vegetable oil on to it from what I first thought was a sauce bottle.
May be malt vinegar too. My dad used to love that shit on his fries and other deep fried things. Certainly wouldn’t be my choice.
You’re right, though. That bottom piece is nasty.
Could be some kind of vinegar (isn’t malt vinegar brown?), if it’s a stock photo set up that might also explain why it’s directly touching the actual ink instead of plain or wax paper?
This convo is so making me want hot chips darn it! Or that top piece…
Oh, yeah, you’re right. Malt vinegar is brown.
It honestly sounded like the man was taking advantage. He was lying to the tribunal, so lucky she had all that evidence. I mean who tells the tribunal they paid for half of the car when they didn’t. How did they think that was going to go? Did they think bank statements don’t exist?
Also, $16k on takeaways over a few months? That sounds crazy to me.
It’s an eye-watering amount of money, they must have been getting every single meal delivered to spend that much.
Feb through June 2023. 149 days at most. That’s $107 per day. How does one person eat $107 of takeaways per day?
This is one person buying for two, but that’s perhaps two meals a day, at over $50 for both.
Beats me.
Maybe buying booze on uber eats?
