Seems only fair. The British Museum has done the same thing plenty of times.
For the unawares, he was Chaim Weizmann the very first President of modern day Israel. Before that he was a Russian Biochemist, he helped the British develop a new Acetone production method which was instrumental in weapons supply in WW1.
Basically he used his influence to meet people, shake hands, later on fight the Nazis and create the Jewish State. It’s debatable how “good” of a person he was, but certainly an odd thing to steal.
