    Of course you were taught (partially) wrong.

    What some call Old Testament was written by Palestinians firstly in the Neo-Babylonian, then Persian diaspora. Don’t make any mistake, these people were privileged aristocrats, either secular or religious. I put the time of the writings in the Persian period what’s arbitrary but not proven wrong. They were cult, and rich, enough to work as copyists, scribes and bookkeepers: activities well appreciated by the satraps. One could say that the Persians invented the bureaucracy.

    And the Egyptians had a finger in the New Testament too, but the majority of Coptic contributions in the first two centuries was ruled out by Roma.

      What Persian book do millions of people follow nowadays? Or was I taught wrongly?

      Mithraism is alive and well in its Judeo-Christian transmutation.
