Hey. This happened less than a few weeks ago so it’s still fresh in my mind. Maybe some of you have went through a similar scenario and can offer advice.
Recently I’ve been attending college and with it came a much more liberal environment. I’ve grown up catholic but I got some friends who were way more open about things like their sexuality and political opinions.
I eventually got around to joining the atheist club initially to debate them as I was a very well read Christian. But overtime I came to realize that there might not be a God. I also found out I was ace.
I stupidly put up the asexual flag as my wallpaper and when my mother inquired about it as she was typing an email with my laptop (strange ik, I think she already suspected something) i said it was the asexual flag and she freaked out and rushed to tell my dad.
They then told me that I have five minutes to grab what I need and to never come back to the house. I tried saying that I was still Christian and they texted me back saying that I was going to hell and to never contact them again. My friends have blocked me and my neighbours haven’t been responding.
I haven’t eaten anything since. I tried looking through the trash for something to eat but I immediately threw up and for some reason the food banks won’t accept me. I’m getting a little very desperate so I’m here asking for some advice and maybe some help.
I also have some IT certifications if you need help. I can get anywhere in Canada and maybe the US. Anything at all helps. At the very least thank you for reading all of this.
Maybe I’m just a jaded skeptic, but this doesn’t ring true to me. I’ve never seen a food bank turn away anyone for any reason. Even when they run out of food, they will provide alternative resources.
It’s definitely scammer bait. Also amusing that the leet speak “spectral” came by to corroborate leet speak “ghost’s” experience. How long before VVR/\1TH, $had3, and C@sper, swing by? Heck even Gemini calls it as such:
Extreme Reactions: Parents, even very religious ones, rarely react this way. While they might disapprove of your sexuality or beliefs, completely disowning you and cutting off all contact is unusual.
Lack of Support: While friends and neighbors might be surprised or uncomfortable, it’s unlikely they would completely abandon you.
Food Bank Issues: Food banks generally have inclusive policies and would not turn someone away due to their situation.
“IT Certifications” as a bargaining chip: While these skills are valuable, offering them in exchange for basic necessities like food and shelter seems out of place in this context.
I’m really not sure what else to say. Maybe they reject homeless people? When they asked for an address I naively said i don’t have one currently but homeless ppl need to eat too so idk
