Finally. ChromeOS has always been a dumb idea. Making an entire OS just to use sluggish web apps in Chrome. Who thought of that? As if Android could not do web apps. Then, years later, ChromeOS got “native” apps, in quotation marks because those were just Android apps. So a whole dedicated OS, just to launch Android apps in a compatibility layer. Some additional years later, ChromeOS got “native” games via Steam. Again, quotation marks, because those run in a Debian-based container.

Samsung DeX shows since many years that a Android with a desktop UI is a possibility.

No software is ever free of bugs, especially not one starting with a zero version number.

Privacy laws here in Germany and probably the rest of the EU say that ther must be no avoidable delay in the deletion request of user data. 0.19.5 and newer have that feature, therefore by choosing not to update there has to be an avoidable delay.

That said, there is no communication of news and roadmaps. Maybe on proprietary Discord but not here.

Win10 also has ads, MS added more ads through updates. My work desktop PC runs Win10, my work notebook runs Win11. I have the comparison on a daily basis.

No, why would I? I nowhere said that Win11 is the best OS, btw, but from the perspective of a Linux user, Win11’s WSL2 is a massive improvement over WSL 1.0 in Win10.

If you’re looking for a Win10 fanboy, maybe look in a different community, not a Linux one.

Win11 is definitely a lot better than Win10. The improvements around WSL alone are worth the upgrade.

In pretty much every international sporting competition, the referees are from countries other than the competing teams/athletes. Football, boxing, you name it. It’s part of rules to maintain impartiality and fairness in the matches. Englishman Johnny Herbert being part of the stewarding team to judge over English teams and athletes would be a scandal in every other sport’s world championship. This weekend a German ADAC higher-up was also part of the stewarding team. I have no idea about his impartiality regarding Mercedes or Nico Hülkenberg and there shouldn’t be any questions regarding impartiality based on nationality. That’s precisely why others sports have such rules.
