There’s a differently shaped cartridge with the same art in this photo so it’s probably from something made by the same company https://www.deviantart.com/pokemonosterfanzg/art/My-Famiclone-Keyboard-Console-427590982

Do NOT give the carrot industry that idea
They should just use the same approach big minecraft servers use, the game itself has no anticheat, but the server makes sure the data it’s getting from the client makes sense and kicks clients sending weird data. Doing any checks client side will always be insecure and a nuisance to players
The fact that companies think client side anti cheat is a good idea is so insane. Maybe try designing your server better instead of blaming the operating system for not letting you control your users
It’s so dumb because it would be so easy for them to use a business model people don’t hate since it’s a genuinely good game but they just won’t. If they charged like $20 for the base game and maybe like $5 each for the DLCs I would probably buy the game and a few DLCs, but all the DLCs are so expensive that my options are either play the base game for free or pirate all the DLC for free, so either way EA gets no money out of someone who would otherwise have been a paying customer
Every meme on this community feels like it’s from someone who hasn’t used linux since the early 2000s. If you’re having to mess with permissions for your desktop’s mount button to work try using a less terrible linux distribution that’s actually made right.
And I bet he does less work in a day than every single one of the people who were laid off to fund his pay
I actually can’t remember any time I’ve had a linux computer actually crash other than because of a hardware failure. I’ve had the buggy vulkan pre-release version of BeamNG crash my video driver but that’s actually recoverable without a reboot if you have a way to get a shell remotely or if you have sysrq enabled and again that’s using very much not release quality software.
Although to be fair I don’t think crashes are a good way to measure how usable an operating system is for desktop users. I’ve also never had VMS or NetBSD crash
The stupid paid texture packs and maps and skins on the marketplace
Minecraft pocket edition has microtransactions but it only ever pushes them on the menu never actually in game so maybe that’s a compromise? Also it’s simple but this port of Simon Tatham’s portable puzzle collection is pretty good and has no ads or microtransactions https://f-droid.org/en/packages/name.boyle.chris.sgtpuzzles/
Gonna be honest there are few things I would like less than the criminalizing of my main way of keeping in contact with people. I genuinely think doing that would cause a spike in suicide rates because there are so many people who would just suddenly be completely isolated from having any community
I played so much supertuxkart in middle school, then got pretty good at figuring out how to configure wine to make everything work in high school, and now as an adult wine has gotten so good that I just click on whatever I want to play on steam and 90% of the time it just works flawlessly, I don’t even always remember which games are native and which are running in wine these days.
Anyway yeah, using linux never made me spend less time playing games
Darrell brooks used a lot of sovereign citizen talking points in his trial. They unsurprisingly didn’t work https://youtu.be/6W9r3vAQZ00
I say you’ve won an operating system once you’ve contributed code that got into its kernel
The fact that I can’t immediately think of a reason this would be illegal scares me
