  • I think Trump knows that he’ll almost always score points with voters by offending and upsetting those opposed to him, regardless of their party. So many of those who voted for him cited his unwillingness to conform as a major draw.

Most of them are just angry with the status quo and by upsetting establishment people Trump misleads the electorate into thinking he’s not of and from the establishment. He’s convinced so many that he’s a force for change when in reality he’s a force for entrenching and empowering the worst aspects of the system.

  • Votes aren’t all counted so no, 15 million didn’t sit out. I’m not saying it wasn’t millions, but it’s not 15 million.

You’re fine being part of the problem then? Shit looks bad so you’re not going to even try and be civil? You sound like those disaffected voters.

What if the folks that voted in 2020 and didn’t vote in 2024 are the type of folks who just normally don’t vote and weren’t inspired this year? What if the same kind of “there’s no way Trump can win” thinking had them taking the situation for granted? Again, not saying they should have fucking voted but maybe it’s more complicated than a few million people didn’t vote this year so apparently the entirety of the non-republicans are racists. Group punishment is in order?

  • Yes, we all woke up to our future being a fucking fascist horror show. We’re all grieving. Chill the fuck out with the “racist” shit, you just dividing the left more.

Yes, I’m sure some people are just misogynistic and racist and stayed home because of that. However, other people feel like it doesn’t fucking matter. We understand that it does matter, but I’ll be damned if I don’t feel that way too sometimes. It’s so goddamn frustrating when the Democrats tack right over and over again, hamstringing progressives along the way, and then turn around and say “Vote for us because we’re the lesser evil. We’ve wedged you between a rock and a hard place so suck it up and do your patriotic duty like good little peasants.”

Kamala’s campaign veered right and abso-fucking-lutely alienated progressive voters. By the end I was legitimately worried she might actually end up being to the right of Biden economically.

Do I forgive lefties for sitting this one out? No. That doesn’t mean they won’t do it again and that, for the first time in what feels like decades, the Democrats need to actually learn the right lesson from losing an election.

  • The shareholders are the real victims here. Despite being willing to pay their new CEO more than their competitors, the rate at which the company’s profits are increasing is 0.8% less than their competitor’s! Their stock price just took a massive nose dive of $0.08 overnight! Better give the CEO a better incentive package. I’m sure he can replace our QA team with Elon’s new Optimus robots. That might increase our margins and keep us competitive!

All of these things are happening or heading towards happening now, under Democrat leadership.

    Events I’ve pointed and sourced:

Golan Heights, Jerusalem recognized as the capital, bailing on the Iran Nuclear deal… they happened because Trump made them happen while he was president. They aren’t happening or heading towards happening now. He literally did them between 2016 and 2020. You. are. lying.

Also, I’m done. Good luck trolling, spreading disinformation, or whatever gets you off.

  • I don’t know how I can make this any clearer. This election, 2024, is not normal. In 2020 or any year prior I’d agree with you that things are not black and white.

The man attempted a fucking coup after he lost in 2020. He has forced anyone loyal to him, or fearful of his political power, to deny that he legitimately lost the last election. An enormous effort has been undertaken to install people loyal to him through the election process in countless states and counties throughout the country to have already tested their ability to contest, refuse to certify, and/or slow walk the electoral process.

The upcoming election is black and white. If this man doesn’t suffer an overwhelming loss, there is a very good chance the US will become a dictatorship.

  • Well I wouldnt tell that person to go on message boards and shit on every single person who shows the slightest bit of hesitance to vote democrat.

Lol. You aren’t hesitant, you are falsely equating a party that is deeply flawed and a party actively working to undermine and steal an election because they know that their policies are so disturbingly bad and unpopular that even the disproportionate power their given by the electoral college can’t sustain them unless they cheat.

There are more than two outcomes, but I know that several very possible outcomes result in christofascism ruling the USA for the foreseeable future.

You can bark at me all you want but you care more about predicting who wins than affecting change, so we aren’t even talking about the same things.

Predicting who wins? What are you even talking about. I don’t know who is going to win so my point is all hands on deck to preserve what flawed democracy we still have left. If you plan is to sit this one out in some misguided attempt to “affect change” by doing nothing, then I’m going to bark.

  • Then your values are flawed.

You are watching a victim forced to give a gun to either

    1. sleazeball or

    2. a psychopath who has an explicitly outlined plan to use the gun to get more guns and kill as many people as possible.

Instead of urging the victim to choose the lesser evil you are doing… nothing? Bravely doing nothing so that next time… the sleazeball will make better choices or arguments? Or maybe so that next time the victim will learn their lesson and find a third option?

And comparing the two parties like they are both the same within this broken system is counterproductive. One party is openly planning an authoritarian coup, and the other is far too beholden to the capitalist class. Voting third party or abstaining (same thing) is a vote to end whatever shreds of democracy we still have.

Vote for the lesser evil and make a scene about whatever you don’t like but don’t pretend the two parties are the same. It kills morale and it’s bullshit to boot.

  • To be a pedantic asshole, technically enshittification is meant to refer to online services that follow an inevitable process of…

    1. Attract users/customers with high quality services/products to create a captive/dependent user base.
    2. Attract business customers (ex. advertisers or businesses that can benefit from access to the user base in some way) by offering them high value services by fucking over your captive user base create a captive/dependent busiess customer base.
    3. Fuck over your captive business customers to increase your own profit.

Admittedly, I see enshittification used colloquially meaning basically “business found a way to fuck over its customers more than usual to increase their profit”. Perhaps that is what you mean by “General enshittification”.
