I remembered this and googled it. In my mind there was a video, but man. It’s been a crazy 8 years.

“When Elon Musk came to the White House asking me for help on all of his many subsidized projects, whether it’s electric cars that don’t drive long enough, driverless cars that crash, or rocket ships to nowhere, without which subsidies he’d be worthless,” the ever-gracious Trump wrote in 2022, “and telling me how he was a big Trump fan and Republican, I could have said, ‘drop to your knees and beg,’ and he would have done it…”

  • God I miss my job.

More than 20 years of peace and I took it for granted. When the boss started talking about selling the place I thought, “Who would buy this outdated hole in the ground that makes no real money and is surrounded by competition?”

What bums me out the most though is that when I was 16 he said, “Come work for me. In 10 years I intend to retire and I’ll lease one of these places out to you and you’ll take over when I die.”

I knew it wasn’t happening at the 11 year mark.

Don’t be loyal. Jump around. Don’t throw your life and time away. Everyone I know who has ever made any money did so by selling their skills to the highest bidder.

I helped someone else get everything they ever wanted and I got nothing but promises.

    Don’t do that. Seriously.

(I should have made this its own comment but yours is the one that moved me to write it. The speech is directed mostly at OP and anyone else who stumbles onto it.)

  • Like others said, anti anxiety meds, avoid the internet. Also, get yourself a musical instrument and dive into creativity. You won’t be sad that you did that.

I’d hate to have to tell your ghost that a week after you died there was a plane crash that changed everything or something.

You don’t know what’s going to happen and I promise you, you’ll die eventually if you just hang in there.

If I had pulled the trigger when I wanted to in 2017, I would have missed the most wonderful time of my life so far and by a long shot.

I still have the only gun I’ve ever owned. I’m probably gonna bury that bad boy soon, give it a little grave. Can’t sell it, it’s one of the worst reviewed firearms made in the last 40 years and no one who cares would dream of buying it.

    Good luck.

  • My brother’s former employer (Jim Justice, current governor of West Virginia) once laid off nearly everyone in the mine he worked at. With their last paycheck was a letter, (paraphrasing) “If Barack Obama is elected, we may never return to work.”

I took it as, “Well, vote Republican or we aren’t opening the mines back up and you won’t have a job.”

Wasn’t long after Obama won that they called most of them back.

It’s crazy how often my brother and his coworkers had to chase their paychecks too. Justice is known locally for stiffing his workers, yet somehow he’s qualified to govern the state. Beats me man. I need to look at the election results and see how many people voted for him in towns where he employs people. It would shock me if he got a significant post job of the vote in those towns given his reputation.

Before he was governor I only ever heard his name in a negative light.

  • Dreams are always fucked up like this, only we don’t remember most of it. Have you ever nearly ended a day when suddenly you catch a glimpse of something that triggers a memory of a dream you had the night before? I have. It can be a silly little thing, like the time I was standing outside at work and seen a girl strike a lighter. I suddenly had an entire story open up in my memory, and fortunately it was pleasant.

Have you ever woke up in complete horror and knew you had a nightmare, but you didn’t know what it was? It had to be really, really bad, you just can’t remember it.

It’s something to do with being in a coma, probably the duration or that the supply of chemicals that keep us asleep are exhausted. Take that with a grain of salt. I’m just an idiot. I don’t even remotely know.

I believe that dreams that I don’t remember directly contribute to my daily moods. If I wake up feeling wonderful, I must have had decent dreams. If I wake up angry, I must have had nightmares. This is consistent when I remember them.

Ehhhh, I dawnt reely no if it matters to much. Wut reely matters is that a purson can bee under stood. Thats the point of langwege.

I no a man hoo rites like this and calls PayPal pay pow, but he is a numbers jeenyus hoo duz complex calculashins n his hed like yoo hav nevur seen.

He can’t spell his damn name to save his life, but he’s a genius in ways that constantly blow me away. He draws complex diagrams by hand of every system he builds by hand. If anyone were ever to work behind him on something they’re very familiar with, they’d have to tear it all down and rebuild it because he just invents his own way as he goes. He has no real education either. I can’t imagine what kind of powerhouse he could be if he’d ever been afforded a chance to really learn.

I’d trade my abilities with written language for his skills any day.
