I also find their “discoveries” more interesting than a treasure that I find improbable. If they actually find solid evidence that the Money Pit is a human construction, it begs the question of why pre-industrial people would spend the resources to create it.

I would accept that the original pit was a natural sinkhole except for the coconut fiber evidence. As we all know, palm trees don’t grow in that region. Coconut fiber, called coir, was a common trade item because it was used like hemp. Common applications were rope, mattress stuffing, and matting. It can also be mixed with pitch to make a substitute for oakum - a common material used to waterproof ships hulls.

When video or audio evidence is submitted, it will be questioned as to its authenticity. Who recorded it? On what device? Then we’ll look for other corroborating evidence. Are there other videos that captured the events in the background of the evidence video? Are there witnesses? Is there contradictory evidence?

Say there’s a video depicting a person committing murder in an alley. The defense will look for video from the adjoining streets that show the presence or absence of the murderer before or after. If those videos show cars driving by with headlights on, they will look for corresponding changes in the luminosity of the crime video. If the crime happened in the daytime, they will check that the shadows correspond to Sun’s position at that moment. They’ll see if the reflections of objects match the scene. They’ll look for evidence that the murderer was not at the scene. Perhaps a neighbor’s surveillance camera shows they were at home or their cell phone indicated they were someplace else.

But if all these things indicate the suspect was in the alley and the video is legitimate, that’s powerful evidence toward a conviction.

We won’t have a clear winner. No matter which candidate “wins”, there will be widespread allegations of voter fraud. There will be protests. Biden will declare a national emergency. What happens after that? I don’t know. But I am prepared for major social unrest.

A large number of people from both major parties are absolutely unwilling to accept a win by the opposing candidate. I’ve never seen the country so divided.

Electronics are pretty reliable. Cheap mechanical parts are not. High end systems are be able to withstand the rigors of setup and takedown, dusty environments, and frequent transportation. If you keep a cheap mixer indoors and cover the controls with a dropcloth to minimize dust, it should last quite a while.

Cheap works for non-professional projects. I’ve used Behringer, Alesis, and other inexpensive mixers for sound systems. The tradeoff is cheap generally means you might be replacing the board in 5-10 years. The Alesis mixer lasted about 6 years before the pots got noisy. My karaoke system is a mid-range 16-channel board, and it’s going on 15 years trouble free.

If all you need is to set the levels and parameters then leave them alone, cheap will work. If you’re making changes while recording or performing, cheap will eventually fail you.

Not recommended for lycra or spandex suits, or any suit that has elastic closures, particularly during the summer months. They will rapidly degrade in the heat of the car. The only voters that matter in this election are the moderates. We will decide the winner in November. The Hard Left and Right will vote for their party’s candidate, but neither can ensure the Oval Office without moderate support. I look forward to the debate, mainly to see how Biden handles himself without a teleprompter. I already know Trump is going to spew word salad.

Maybe someday (in my wet dreams) I’ll have a ranked-choice vote. Then I won’t have to base my vote on the lesser of two evils. That’s unfortunately the way things are in our two party dominated political system. It’s another election where I have to vote to keep the worst contender from winning.

Biden needs to start putting up billboards with these Trump quotes, referring folks to his “trumpsucks.com” website, which now simply redirects to the “joebiden.com” website.

That there is an all powerful supreme being that demands our worship or else we will suffer for all eternity after our death.
