I was getting at making the point that Republicans don’t leave because they’re not threatened. But I also get the emotions and fervor. I’m with you. I feel it and I wouldn’t take it away. It might be the only useful tool we’ve got

Did you reply to the wrong comment by chance? Or am I getting a shellacking for my laziness?
To be fair, the Dems don’t have candidates to threaten or promise murder for the other party.
Eventually. It will. How long? That’s impossible to say. As is how bad it will get before a correction occurs. Hitler was in power for twelve years. 70-85 million people died during his reign between slaughters and fighting. And Germany was not the strongest nation in the world (and definitely not the strongest by a wide margin) at that time. Imagine Germany starting off 1933 with the military might to fight two wars at once with the two strongest nations on the planet. And imagine their border was basically impenetrable by any combined force of countries while they fought those two wars. That could easily be where we’re going to be at. No one is coming to save us.
I’m pretty certain all out fascism is what we’re going to have. A handful of Democrats are not enough to hold democracy together. I don’t think it will be long before there’s not even a pretense of that being the case.
Those Democrats have careers and families they care about. It doesn’t take much pressure to own a few of them. Especially without checks and balances and add in some bootlicking appointees to the three letter agencies.
I know I definitely did. I really had to cut back a lot. It was feeling problematic. But as I started getting back out into society (I happily isolated from everyone) and wanting to socialize over beers or cocktails, so many of my friends have quit altogether. I assume many due to their drinking during quarantine.
The first carve I did on my CNC machine.
Part of the new Apple power bottom design strategy.
I don’t think your information is quite right here. A nice (nice as in kind of the best that I’m aware of) pod style vape is about $30. A bigger box mod is under $60 for the ones I like from Vaporesso or Voopoo. Juice is let’s say liberally, $40/mo (120ml). I have been handing down vape mods for almost a dozen years. My buddy vapes a lot and he’s been using my hand-me-down vape for two years and it was 5 years old when I gave it to him. I only buy new because they get a little worn and I like the shiny screen and buttons. Absolutely all still usable. Best I can tell, disposables are about $10 for 3-4 days (according my partner who is annoyingly using disposables for “convenience”). You can get a nice mod and juice every month for the price of disposables from the real world numbers I’m seeing.
If I could just simply remote into my computer running Wayland, I’d be so happy. Everything else I can personally contend with.
On the internet, no one knows you’re a dog. Except for Meta, Alphabet, Russia, China, Israel, the NSA and your ISP. But no one else knows
Yeah this is a cost of doing business tax for them. Nothing to prevent it from occurring constantly. And glad the health services got their cut. Now how about the millions who have been overpaying for insurance?
No but it was competing with Digg and Slashdot until Digg screwed the pooch. It’s been a while, but reddit really owes its size and popularity to Digg 2.0 and the fiasco of bad decisions driven by investors.
It’s more of a wedding party where the bride’s new brother in law shows up to the reception completely wasted while calling out random songs and the DJ placates him as the family huddles in the prep room trying to figure out what to do with him.
It’s patently evident if you’re rational. If you’re not rational and all you hear is “when the people of Florida were devastated by Milton, where were Biden and Kamala?” you won’t be blaming the poor Republicans who obviously wanted to help (based on tone) but couldn’t because the evil Democrats were buying designer drugs like insulin for welfare queens.
Republican rhetoric works extremely well for a large chunk of the electorate. And we all suffer for it, even those who vote against their interests.
The sugar issue took decades to get us here and will take decades to get us out. It’s not an overnight cause and effect. Meanwhile, my doctor thinks ozempic should be in the drinking water (tongue in cheek of course) because of the good it would do to society with immediate results.
you’re lazy and should just exercise more / control your diet.
I live on this street. Honestly, it gets more foot traffic already than much of the town. There’s a school and many of the kids walk home. Which is rare in Boise. Unfortunately, the highway district has turned the street into a stroad and much of the day has a ton of car traffic at decent speeds.
But I am not buying the idea that they’re promoting foot traffic and busses so much as working with the three new(ish) businesses on the street to promote gentrification.
Does seem like a Roger Stone tactic.
