  • I use the fusion VPN function of my Asus router so new devices and specific devices can only use the VPN. Other devices can access.internet without the VPN.

It’s pretty stable. I think I’ve had the connection ( wireguard ) drop twice so that I had to reconnect it. Not sure if that is related to the VPN on Asus though.

The reason not all devices use the VPN is because there’s a bunch of streaming sites ( local ) that claim you’re not in the country while the VPN is. Or it just doesn’t allow you to play the videos.

  • I’m in a similar boat. 45m drive by car. 2h using PT. Including a 30 minute walk for the last bit to my office. This doesn’t include waiting for busses or trains.

Realistically it’d be 2.5h without delays. And that’s just one way. After that I’m expected to work for 8h and do it again.

So if i leave at 7am, +5h+8h +30minute lunch break I’d be home by …8.30pm?

And that is hoping the connections line up after work… Cycling isn’t really an option as there’s no shower in the workplace. And knowing corps I’m pretty sure they won’t appreciate people charging their electric bike battery in the office for free.

RIP work-life balance using PT. And I already feel like it’s shit.

Though I do try to use the train when I can. Even though it ain’t cheap either…

  • They dont need to know any commands.

Everything in Linux is point and click. There’s an app store where you’ll find everything you’ll need. You will not need to open the terminal at all. All drivers will get installed through the OS.

Only things which do not work are the keyboard software and stuff to map macros to your keys and/or mouse buttons ans tweak the colours. Like the Razor software.

Distros like Ubuntu, popos, Linux mint are incredibly beginner friendly. There are, without a doubt, others.

They didn’t need to know any cmd/powershell commands using windows and they definitely don’t need to know how to use a Linux terminal to browse/mail/install software on Linux.
