Works well as both a media consumption machine and light gaming rig.

Xfinity/Comcast hijacks DNS, even if you use another DNS server (they just redirect DNS requests to them). I suspect that they’re using it for analytics data to sell while disguising it as “security”.
They also block access to root DNS servers, so you can’t use a full DNS Resolver run locally. It’s super f***Ed.
If you want to ensure they don’t do it, use your own modem and always force DNS over TLS.

Every endpoint device I use is using full disk encryption, yes.

If it works, it’s fine to use GE builds, but generally I just leave it on the default for Steam and only change it if I have a problem.

Microsoft would have a hard time crushing the biggest gaming store in the industry. I think this is more of a “don’t fuck around or you’ll find out” from Valve to Microsoft.
Valve is put in a weak position if they’re entirely reliant on Windows. Having another option that grows in market share puts them on better negotiating footing, should the need arise.

This is a VR app for streaming 2D games on a virtual screen, AFAIK. Not for actual VR games.
For Brother Laser printers, I highly recommend the brlaser package over using the Brother-provided drivers.
Welcome to full time Linux!

I mean she’s not wrong.

Fucking animals. Fuck Israel’s military.

Me: “Huh…neat…anyway”

Not available in North America without importing it, which voids warranty and makes it usually more expensive.

They make nice looking devices, but I’d never trust a device from them.
Of course, I don’t trust a LOT of devices these days. Sure would be nice if we had a decent 5G capable, open source alternative. I don’t care if it costs $800+. I’d buy it.

Nifty project. Definitely I could see this being useful for discussing things that would traditionally be censored on other more centralized or semi-decentralized platforms (piracy, anti-authoritarian discussions in an oppressive country, etc).
I gave it a try and the loading times are atrocious, though. I suppose that’s an unfortunate problem with running decentralized.

As long as they keep putting in replacements that’s are younger, this is a good strategy. The problem would be if they lose their seats, but if it puts the GOP further out of touch with voters and pushes Democrats closer, I’m all for it.

They had rules?
Republicans: I know! Let’s bring back child labor! They yearn for the mines.
I mean who doesn’t want to have a career in a dying energy supply, that causes serious health problems, and doesn’t pay well enough?
Such a mystery.

There is expected to be an announcement at CES that Valve is partnering to bring other vendors into making SteamOS handhelds, so you likely will get your chance at something soon.
A certain recent story regarding CEOs shows you don’t have to wait for random chance.
Until Plebbit fixes how god awful slow it is, I won’t be interested in it. Lemmy is decentralized enough for me.
