2·1 year agoI’ve definitely dreamed or seated on project ideas off and on for years. I also like to think about pared down versions that might serve as a proof of concept that would be easier to execute. Sometimes I actually even build a thing.

22·1 year agoBottom first. The leaves would serve as a flared end and a handle. You’d want it to be ripe-ish I imagine. Ripe enough to have a little give, but not ripe enough that the leaves come out too easily.
Pineapples also come in different sizes, I’ve seen some homegrown ones posted on Lemmy that seem…manageable.

Health - Resources and discussion for everything health-related@lemmy.world•Killing of health insurance CEO draws attention to frustration over denied claimsEnglish
4·1 year agoSo true. Even things like “pre-approvals”. Like, you’ve gone to a medical professional about your problem, you both agree on the right way to go forward. Now you have to get your insurance company’s approval to receive this type of treatment before you start the treatment OR potentially pay out of pocket for what you need. That generally is cost prohibitive and how people get into hundreds of thousands of dollars of medical debt.

It appears to be a photo taken in Chicago, Illinois. The distinctive skyline, including the Willis (Sears) Tower and the city’s recognizable downtown profile, suggests the picture was snapped along a roadway near the city’s lakefront. The curvature of the road and proximity to Lake Michigan’s shoreline strongly hints that this was taken along (or above) DuSable Lake Shore Drive, facing towards the Loop area and Chicago’s iconic skyline.
But I have zero personal information regarding it.
When they won’t get their dicks out of their hands in formation, it’s very distracting for others.

Cybersecurity@sh.itjust.works•Korea arrests CEO for adding DDoS feature to satellite receiversEnglish
8·1 year agoVery interesting. I wish the story told more.
South Korean police have arrested a CEO and five employees for manufacturing over 240,000 satellite receivers pre-loaded or later updated to include DDoS attack functionality at a purchaser’s request.
While neither company has been named, the two companies have been trading since 2017. In November 2018, the purchasing company made a special request to include DDoS functionality, with the South Korean manufacturer complying.
Allegedly, the functionality was needed to counter the attacks of a competing entity.
