This is exactly the feeling I had when I played Assassin’s Creed and picked up a flag that said “1/100”. That happened multiple times, since there are 400 flags in the game. And what do you get? Absolutely nothing but an achievement.

I hold Mario Odyssey up as a shining example of how to make large optional objectives fun. You don’t really get much of a reward for getting all 999 moons, but at least the vast majority of them have fun puzzles to solve so that it’s actually rewarding to collect them. Contrast this with, say, Korok seeds.

The blatant racism around DEI fearmongering is really something terrible to behold. Funnily enough, the argument seems to be “racism/sexism isn’t a thing anymore so clearly these are just less competent people getting jobs cause woke.”

The Francis Scott Key bridge was blamed on DEI. Even though the ship wasn’t even owned or crewed by Americans.

The humor for me is that you kind of expect something like this to end in bitter tears and a sad goodbye, but they’re both actually totally fine with a divorce and even hype each other up for new relationships.

A lot of trans discovery/coming out stories don’t end very happily, so it’s nice to see one that does.

This may be a silly question, but what are VMs generally used for in a corporate setting? Is it the same use case as docker?

I kinda get it, mod authors (and FOSS devs) often get a lot of requests for something they’re doing in their free time without pay. If they already have a backlog, they have to be picky about what tasks they take on, and they can get a bit snippy when overwhelmed with requests (or questions that might turn into one). That being said, there’s no reason to be rude.

Honestly that mod torpedoing the whole movement with a dumb interview and forcing the rebrand to work reform was probably one of the best things that could’ve happened.

I hate all this extrovert VS introvert stuff, one side seen as vapid, gibbering apes and the other seen as loner shut-ins. It’s exhausting, especially since most people don’t fall squarely into one camp or the other.

There’s plenty of introverted people who love to talk and go out with people, they just need some time between outings to wind down and gear up and to know there’s someone around that will share their interests. Likewise, there are shy extroverts who thrive more in online spaces where they can easily manage their interactions with others and have time to think about their responses. In either case, being an asshole is not part of it.

If you ever think “an actual human couldn’t possibly click that fast”, you are wrong. Debounce your critical actions.

I use InkStitch for designing embroidery patterns on Inkscape and love it, especially because commercial embroidery design programs are so expensive. I won’t lie, it’s pretty clunky at the moment, but I hope to be able to contribute to it and really polish it up.
