My cat has a new obsession: sticking his head out of the cat flap, seeing that it’s raining, staying still, coming back in, meowing at me like “Daaad, it’s raining” and starting the cycle again.

My cat does this, except he goes all the way out, stands under the one leaky bit of the guttering 3 stories up, comes in soaked, yells until you dry him off and repeats. It’s gotten to the point we just lock him in if it’s raining. That way he yells about being imprisoned for a few minutes then goes and has a nap until the next meal time.

Used to be able to get an open rail ticket, looks like that’s not a thing anymore? I did find this, but I’m not awake enough to figure out how good a deal it is. Rail is definitely one of the more memorable ways to cross Canada. Can get a trip from Toronto to Vancouver for $1300+ with stops in Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Jasper and Kamloops. That’s only a 5 day trip, so you’d have to figure something out for the other weeks.

They’re still perfectly functional. As long as you’re happy not having ray tracing, and are willing to settle for not running everything on max gfx, there’s no reason to buy a 50, 40 or 30 series. I’m able to play most new games that interest me on medium gfx with no issues.

I’m still rocking my 1080ti and I paid $140 CAD when the 20 series dropped.

Sure, it would also be probably one of the stupidest options available to them…

Listened to an interview, shortly after Binden stepped out, with a young Muslim Dem guy who was trying to drum up support in the DNC. He, and the people working with him, were really concerned about the alienation of the Muslim voting block. From what he was saying, it seems the community would usually vote Dem because the GOP are really hostile towards Muslims. But most traditionalist Muslims are hard C conservative, and on the surface level have a lot in common with the “Evangelical” nutjobs that seems to be running the show. He found some success in gaining wider support, but not enough to get a stance change on Gaza or to try and keep the Muslim voters with the Dems.

All that said…it wasn’t, according to exit polls, the Muslim voters that really killed them on this run. The biggest shift, from what I understand, was with the Latino community. And you might think “Well shit, Trump shit talks Latinos all the time, he’ll there was that shit he was saying about Puerto Rico not too long ago!”
But with any large and generalised community, there’s a lot of “in group hatred”. There’s always going to be an “other.”
“So what if Trump hates Puerto Ricans, I’m Cuban, his hate of this group won’t affect me…”
